It’s interesting, Facebook’s algorithm, by boosting controversy, takes some responsibility for the violence, by boosting violent supporters, ostensibly because they have higher levels of engagement. This argument, appeals to me, appears to be cogent.

The article seems to be calling for a huge indictment against Facebook, for not censoring, and moderating, the discussion of people inside of that country. Making Facebook the worldwide moderator of all communication, is a very dangerous precedent I’d like to avoid.

Kind of going against the author here, I think the internet, and free speech on the internet, was critical in getting the message out about what was happening inside of Burma.
