Why is the post about reddit a “best of Lemmy” post?

For me on voyager, the link directs to a comment below on that post left by Rubisco, which links to an article about restricting communication to encourage people to purchase things, which I assume the OP considered worthy of posting here.

You are correct. I tried to link to the specific comment that linked to the blog post directly, to credit the poster that found the blog post, but many clients apparently make it seem like a link to the top-level post. Here is a direct link to the blog post.

The link worked (on Jerboa) for me, mate. Not sure why they caught hell here. Maybe folk didn’t bother to actually click through? Idk.

I bet if one makes a post specifically for Valente’s piece it will climb fast. I figured most of lemmy had already seen it, then it quickly got upvoted and commented. -shrugs-

edit: Wow, was I wrong or what?

No comments for me. But I’m using pre-release version of Thunder. Dunno what’s up. The website shows them.

Much like on Reddit, standard practice is skimming the headline, looking at the thumbnail and then voting and occasionally commenting. A rare percentage of the time something looks interesting enough to earn a click through.

I wish I could say I was above such behaviour but I have certainly been guilty of it myself.
