Anyone knows the lyrics to the intro of the OP? I kept hearing it as “crash crash crash, crash out”.
IMO the anime done right by Take Yataka, portraying his genderbent self (trainer Nase Fumino) as such a chad e.g. when she acknowledged the horse girls as the real MVPs.
I did not expect the role reversal of Super Creek and her trainer though. Alhough I did not play the game, I’ve followed it enough to know that Super Creek is the motherly figure. So I did not expect that Nase Fumino would be the one to take care of Super Creek instead of the other way round.
(I also thought the anime would reference how Super Creek chose Take Yukata as his jockey by tugging on his sleeve IRL, but whatever.)
By the way, the flashback of Nase Fumino and Super Creek was peak scriptwriting (or storytelling, since it came from the manga?). Saying “I will turn you into Cinderella.” while putting her shoe on for her was just too good. (Also, multiple mentions of glass legs lol)
I am an anime-only when it comes to Cinderella Gray (I did not check Oguri Cap’s and Super Creek’s race records), but I can guess that Super Creek defeated Oguri Cap at least once.
I don’t think Oguri Cap has the experience with long-distance races - which is what Super Creek specialises in - in the anime just yet. And I am aware of Take Yukata’s dominance as a jockey. So odds are Super Creek would beat Oguri Cap once they compete in a long-distance race.
P.S. There’s a post-credit scene; nearly missed it myself.
