I’m about to start school again after 20 years away… A bit nervous. Still, my job was slowly killing me, and I really feel like I can do this.

Also, I accomplished a nerd thing which I am proud of.

Don’t leave us hanging! What was the nerd thing you did?

There’s this server software called Proxmox, and this distributed storage software for it called Ceph, and I moved my first servers from running on bare metal to running in Proxmox on Ceph. Many people have done it before, but I just feel so nerdy and proud having it run that way. I had trouble re-assigning some disks from LVM to the Ceph.

I am doing an MBA now, the last time I studied was 13 years ago. I am finding that I am really enjoying learning a lot. In fact, I never enjoyed learning back when I was in school.

Just went to the wet market. Bought 5 kg of rice, spices, veges and fruits. Got 10 kg of mangosteen because they’re in season right now. Bought some packed rice dishes with curry and chicken as well. Overall, a nice day at my SEA hometown.

Sounds like you’re going to cook something delicious. As a fellow SEA resident I love the chaos of the markets, always something new and exciting

It’s about to be the first heat wave of our summer (it’s been weirdly cool here) and that’s making me anxious. Idk. It’s a long weekend and I’m going to visit my aunt. My mother and other aunt are being rotted monsters to her because they’re both psychos and I am quite prepared to clean their clocks if they don’t cut it out, all because she’s choosing to be buried someday in the family plot. They both deserve nothing but bad things to happen to them.

I feel like lemmies gotten a lot slower over the last 2 weeks. Less content being posted. Maybe there’s more conversations going on, but less organic human posts

Because you can’t post pictures on most instances thanks to the CSAM that we’ve been spammed with. I think so anyhow. I was posting a lot.

Yea I feel the same to. In my opinion, after being on other federated networks. The Fediverse seems very disconnected. Ahem, defederation. And I feel that ppl just want to be the center of attention, and not really make authentic connections. Idk I’ve never cared for the fediverse. Seems so odd

While defederation is an issue I don’t think that’s the issue we’re seeing now. I think there is an initial excitement and people are posting a lot, but not getting the community they’re used to, so they’re posting less. We’re getting more general interest posts now.

But I’m still here doing my part trying to build the community.

I think it’s definitely more niche. I don’t know though, it’s not a bad thing. On Reddit, I always felt that, by the time I saw a post, it was too late to weigh in. On Lemmy, I am a lot less inhibited about randomly commenting.
