Finally, GateSplit
SpateGlit
Took them long enough, their game died and I thought their entire company did as well.
I never played it, but it seemed to face the issue that so many other flash-in-the-pan games have. It’s got a great idea, and then players want more, more, more, and the team wasn’t planning/prepping for that much that soon. And by the time they do get those additions ready, the playerbase has moved on.
I heard Helldivers has fallen off a cliff for player count, and it’s definitely been the bane of many fighting games I’ve bought.
I imagine Helldivers would have seen a drop of in active players, but I imagine that was exacerbated by the PSN account requirement.
That was a fairly large PR disaster for Sony.
The Helldivers falloff wasn’t really because of lack of content, though that may have played a small part. The two biggest issues were the “PSN Incident,” and the fact that the game is just not balanced at all. Lots of bugs that aren’t fun, weapons that were actually fun to use getting nerfed, and AI that felt both unfair anf unfun. Allegedly it was caused by a bug AH said they fixed, but it didn’t really change much.
Basically, AH said they were making changes and when the patch came out either what they did wasn’t fun, or it didn’t actually change anything.
