I’m not taking OS recommendations from someone who sucks so bad at programming they need 3 rubber ducks to debug.

/uj I had to get the insult part of that out there, the rubber ducks were too inspirational, I’m sure you’re a great programmer.

Whilst I absolutely prefer CYMK in terms of colours, it also reminds me of printers, which I generally despise. I grew up in a time where planting your eyeballs on a CRT would show up those wonderful little RGB bars. Terrible for the eyes, but also very pretty to look at.

I think RGB would narrowly win, but it’s close, and I wouldn’t scorn anyone for having a different opinion. ❤️

Nice monitor, I think my mom had that one when I was growing up. Does it go up to 1600x1200? I think that was the resolution her monitor had. I think it was also an aperture grille instead of a shadow mask.

Mine was a basic-bitch beige shadow mask tube (which, amusingly, now tend to be worth more than a lot of the last generation mid-range CRTs despite being lower quality). I managed to find one on eBay in decent condition after a year or two of searching, so now it’s sitting in my room. My next CRT might be one like yours.

Edit: I wish someone could come up with an inexpensive way of manufacturing small quantities of CRTs. There aren’t any new CRTs and likely won’t be due to the cost and complexity of the tubes. All the “new” ones are actually low-use tubes in new shells.

Edit 2: sorry if this came off as “haha, my mom had that monitor”. I meant it like, “oh cool! I think that’s the same model my mom had!”
