    Leaving it is fine as that amount of excess thermal paste won’t have any detrimental effects.

    If it bothers you enough however there are 2 ways you can remove it:

    • q-tip with 99% isopropyl alcohol
    • q-tip with electrical contact cleaner

    For your case I’d recommend the first as it’s cheaper

    Again however with that small amount you’ll be fine leaving it👍

      Totally agreed. Most thermal paste is non-conductive, so it’s not really an issue if it goes too far. However, if you ever use liquid metal, you have to be more careful

        The brand I am using is yeesterpaste. It was at microcenter. It has a little practice pad which was helpful. Turns out my gut feeling was not quite enough. But I may have been a little over zealous with the real one lol.
