Second panel is by far the worst part of this comic.
It’s a little less scary if you imagine Death slooowly moving the bead(?) across the abacus over the course of an entire year before starting the next one on your birthday.
Does this imply he dies on his future birthday? 🤔
There’s an abacus for days once the years are up, and hours and minutes once the days are up. No need to count all that until the year they’re needed.
I love sending that one to friends on their birthday.
