As for the US, the headline does mention Greenland and the article includes

Denmark’s military changes also come in the wake of growing political tensions with the U.S. over control of Greenland, a Danish territory.

And “why Russia tensions?” Probably because Russia is currently waging a war of territorial expansion and several NATO members in the Nordics and Baltics could be next.

Regarding potential conflict with Russia, Denmark’s Minister of Defense Troels Lund Poulsen said in February, "Within two years, Russia could pose a credible threat to one or several NATO-countries if NATO does not build up its own military power in the same rate as Russia.

Didn’t Putin recently make noise over America annexing Greenland? He would be happy with splitting it between them, however.

Fighting America would be as much posturing as fighting, with most fighting being an insurgency type fight. Russia is more likely to be blunt about it, but also more viable to repel. Particularly if the rest of NATO is willing to respond to it.

That remains to be seen… I really don’t have a clue what would happen if Trump would really give the command to attack Greenland, noone really can know I think.

Like with Ukraine you’d think if attack plans were really serious and in an advanced stage, European leaders would be aware. Though with Ukraine it was the US warning of Russian troop buildups…

At least the buildups of US troops in Europe are public and have been for decades. (Only half joking. Vance wasn’t welcome in Greenland today, so he literally just went to a US base in Greenland.)
