2·1 day agoI propose an alternate solution… get rid of TSA. Their inefficiency is well known and documented.

World News@lemmy.world•Mining’s toxic timebomb: dams full of poisonous waste are dotted around the world. What happens when they burst?English
3·2 days agoIf you want some more examples, Plainly Difficult has a few videos on this type of thing. He covers quite a few topics so there aren’t that many for mining/industrial runoff. And unfortunately I can’t recall any specific ones off the top of my head.

3·2 days agoLose the war? I was told we already won. And we’re going to win even harder. Surely they didn’t mislead us.

25·3 days agoNot that Google was doing stellar with their rollout, but I haven’t heard anything bad from anyone who’s actually used the service. This is one of the worst things that could have happened with their service.

California@lemmy.world•Berkeley is one of the first cities in California to implement a new street safety law that prohibits parking next to intersections
1·3 days agoIt is regularly ignored even in places where it’s law. I have more problems with places that have festures that block your view: trees, fence, sign, w/e. Some places I literally have to pull into the closest lane to see far enough to one side. It’s actually far less dangerous than it sounds in these areas, but it’s still shitty.

News@lemmy.world•Illinois introduces OS-level age verification law
1·4 days agoYou seem to just keep ignoring the part where you don’t have to enter real information. I’m not sure if you’re just dumb or a troll. I’m hoping the latter.
And yea, I agree about the website just asking. It changes nothing so why are we bothering with it at all.

News@lemmy.world•Illinois introduces OS-level age verification law
11·4 days agoThe problem everyone has is the verification portion. Thing it to a real person. The rest doesn’t really matter. This is no different from you entering your age on a porn site, which has been a requirement in the US for decades.
Your argument is like being mad that you can’t smoke anymore because your doctor told you not to. No one is forcing to to actually do it or to tell the truth to your doctor.
