Do those nets I’ve seen deployed against drones in videos not work well in practice? It seems like the least dangerous way to get it to the ground, short of hacking it.

LA Public Library has a great list of resources including mutual aid for the fires.
Some medical tools look crude even at regular size… they don’t call orthopedics bone carpenters for nothing!
The 56-year-old was suspended by the club in 2021 for performing a fascist salute at the end of a match against Inter Milan.
Bernabe was filmed making the salute and chanting “duce, duce”, which translates as “leader, leader” and is commonly associated with former fascist Italian leader Benito Mussolini.
“I did it and I don’t regret it because I admire Mussolini, he did great things for Italy as Franco did for Spain,” Bernabe said in 2021.
They fire him for showing his dick online and not for being openly fascist at one of the games they invited him to be at in an official capacity… oh, football culture.
The screencap in the article looks pretty dark to me? Is there something that needs to be dark that the example pic doesn’t show? Asking as someone that turns everything to dark mode.
I didn’t think it was ‘about’ anything other than how campy TOS was (which would surely be familiar to most people in 1991), but if anyone has other reads I’m interested.
Always check what the manual says to do. If you don’t have it it’s almost certainly uploaded somewhere.
I’d be worried about my cat chipping a tooth again, but she’s also a bit of a dumbass.
Secret third option: overexplain yourself and remain misunderstood! 🥲
Pick up some Tajín at the grocery store and sprinkle it on your watermelon, if you want even more flavor!
Honestly “modern healthcare” was pushing it for a lot of them even when they were open, due to decades of cuts and lack of investment. The (now closed) hospital that was in the rural community I grew up in had a reputation for being a place you went if you had no other choice, or it was a very minor emergency even they couldn’t fuck up. My parents floored it to the nearest city (40 minute drive) every time my mom went into labor, despite the local hospital being maybe 15 minutes away max if you drove the speed limit.
Rural hospitals have been getting shut down for years now due to it not being a great money maker, it’s the same reason rural Americans wouldn’t have to their door mail access without it being included in the Constitution.
Even without taking population density into account, access is only going to get worse when hospitals keep shuttering.
Why is it so important for you for it to be her fault and only hers? If it’s so obvious that it’s made of nuts why would the person who gave it to her say it wasn’t? If it’s so stupid to leave that no rational human being would ever consider it why would the school let her do it?
You’re talking about a minor. If it was so stupid for her to do this stuff, then every other person and adult involved was at least as stupid or worse.
Like, yeah, if you have a life threatening allergy you should be appropriately cautious. Schools also should never have “just let them leave” to be anywhere near their list of medical emergency responses to begin with. And you shouldn’t feed someone with food allergies something if you aren’t positive what the ingredients are. Multiple people can do things wrong in a way that results in someone’s death.
Ronna and ronto: disgusting
Quetta and quecto: pleasing
Gracias, México… We will try to not let someone fly a drone into the plane like what happened with the Canadians’ 😬
Are they though? Or maybe they are also victims of global warming who, when their islands flooded, or their homes burned, watched some of these folk continue to lead lifestyles that are incredibly damaging to the environment.
Yeah, I’m sure this is all people whose islands have flooded boosting the criticism of overconsumption and not conservatives going on their regular California hate. 🙄
Do you even know there are two fires in two different LA communities burning right now? Could you point out where Altadena is on a map before last week? Do you know anything about how that is mostly a racially diverse middle class neighborhood that was one of the few areas in LA that WASN’T historically redlined, and one of the only places black people could actually build up equity instead paying a landlord until they die? People who are, as we speak, having images of them fleeing for their lives with what they can carry spread around and being called LOOTERS by the people you are falling over yourself to defend with their shitty, horrible treatment of people living through an active disaster?
If you don’t know any of this don’t you dare lecture me on the complexity of this. Jesus Christ.
Anyone who wants to go up to people in an active (the fires are still burning! People still are under evacuation orders!) global warming-caused natural disaster and say “I told you so” is, at best, a sociopath.
Anyone who hasn’t been outside in ash coming down like snow and seen FEMA at their local libraries can shut the fuck up and kiss my fucking ass.
Neuroscience answer: Dopamine is responsible for (among other things) motivation and the feeling of reward when you do something. People with ADHD have chronically low dopamine levels because they have more dopamine transporters than most people do in their brains, so their brains burn through it quickly.
In practice, people who are unmedicated tend to do whatever they can to try and get a little more dopamine to get them through the day. It’s why smoking, risk taking, illicit drug use, gambling addiction, etc are also correlated with ADHD: all those things give you a dopamine boost.
So when someone is sitting there scrolling through memes on the phone, they’re hunting for the dopamine. The dopamine is almost never at The Task. It’s incredibly frustrating to understand all that and still not really be able to do anything about it until it escalates into an emergency, at which point you don’t really need dopamine to deal with it anymore, now that you have adrenaline. But that’s obviously an unsustainable way to do things on a regular basis.
