I think maybe we can appeal to Dessalines’ better nature as a non-transphobe, and he’ll send Nutomic to sensitivity training (e.i. talk to his friend and teach him some empathy). Does that sound like a cause you can get behind?

I’m using Lemmy’s built in crosspost functionality. Blame Nutomic for the fact it’s duplicated across your feed. A better developer would have made it so crossposts only get delivered to the feed once. In fact, I think Piefed has that feature already iirc

Well the problem is that scientists have conclusively demonstrated through empirical trials that misgendering causes harm to trans people, so Nutomic did an act of violence in this screenshot and might treat more trans people with violence. This violent man shouldn’t represent the Lemmy software

And hey, if Dessalines can’t be convinced, this petition would be a really handy tool for convincing other people to switch to Piefed. The next step after a petition is a boycott.

Nutomic is paid a full time salary to develop Lemmy from donations to the project. I even got a message from him at the top of my feed the other week asking for money. It was like the Wikipedia donate banner, except it said it was from Nutomic. He’s not actually in charge of the project, though, Dessalines is. Dessalines could fire Nutomic if he wanted. I think we should all ask Dessalines to fire Nutomic for transphobia

Well, I think people who support fascists trying to coup the government deserve to be shot, and people who encourage millions not to get vaccinated against deadly plagues also deserve to be shot.

I’m a woke urbanist and I think speed limits are good, but traffic calming is better. The design of the street should make you feel faster, so you drive slower. Narrow streets, tall objects near the street, rumble strips, and chicanes can all slow down traffic by making drivers feel unsafe when they speed.

Slower cars make less noise and run over fewer children. And I hate it when the city is loud because of all the cars. I don’t like dead kids either, but that’s secondary to me.
