When i lived at my place 2 residences back, they put in a new kfc down the street. When corporate was running it and training everyone, it was amazing. So quick, everything fresh and delicious. We went multiple times a week. The moment corporate left, it was obvious, everything went to shit, and we never went back. That was almost 10 years ago and i still think about it

Wholesome@reddthat.com•Growing up I was told to man up or walk it off. Proud of this kid

The next step is admitting that the kid was right. Dont just let him have feelings. Validate those feelings.
I think the joke is about its ingredients. Lemmy went through a bean phase, and it seems to be in a corn phase right now. Not sure if theres more layers to this as im not overly active

politics @lemmy.world•Democrat wins Kentucky state Senate special election
4·10 days agoIsnt it usually biased the otherway? Doesnt the right typically get higher turnout for special elections than the left?
I work in a basement with no windows. Will regularly go 5 straight days with no sun. Still prefer winter over summer.
Not just in academia. This is true for corporate life. There are happy hours left and right which are as much networking as they are excuses to have someone else buy you drinks
I never considered reddit/lemmy social media myself. The anonymity of it just feels different. Just because im online doesnt mean its social media (to me.)
I can play video games online, and post in their group chats, but thats not social media either. I tend to draw the line around anonymity and topics. If were not talking about individuals, and their experiences, and interests, in the target to promote that person, i dont think its social media
When im moving a lot of files or directories, i do it because i dont trust windows to not interrupt
Is lemmy social media?
If not, i have no social media in the last 5 years except 1 post on facebook trying to rehome a dog.
The space before the ! Is a habit i picked up from auto correct. When i was adopting auto correct, my phone would only recognize . And space as a trigger for some reason (i grew up on t9 with no chat history, so i was there from the beginning). So i would hit space, then ! So I didn’t have to fix the word. Just left the space in. Now its just habit on my phone to space before i !
I wouldnt be functioning at that level holy hell

Howd you manage that? Any company worth a shit had a clause that all cases be held where they decide, typically where theyre head quartered

My wife did basically all the shopping and wrapping.
But i drove across the state christmas eve to pick up the kitten and hid it for hours. And built all the things that needed to be assembled. I was up til about one while she was in bed by 9. Then the stuff that wasnt from santa was built today.
Each parent doesnt need to be involved in everything to still be involved.
