1. This plan was initially discussed during the Biden administration, and Biden didn’t provide any pushback against it.

2. Democrats in the House and Senate continue to overwhelmingly support and vote for Israel, even when it is openly committing genocide.

Democratic leaders haven’t decreased their support of Israel one bit since the election. In fact, they’ve doubled down. What evidence do you have that Kamala would have been any better of this than Trump. Both parties are united in giving 100% total support to Israel. You can’t support something more than 100%. Both parties max that stat out.

In a democracy, not voting means that you are saying, “I’m fine with whoever the rest of you choose. I’m good with either.”

The Trump regime is rightfully infamous for their major crimes. But like any villain, they commit crimes both major and minor.

The diseases of obesity ARE solved with Ozempic. Because most people who are obese and take Ozempic already know how to eat healthy. They’re just drawn to eat unhealthily large portions of healthy foods. The root cause of the problem is that people are simply too hungry. These medications solve that issue. Fat people aren’t suffering vitamin, mineral, or fiber deficiencies. They’re just eating too much food.

You just don’t want to admit the truth, instead you demand that we magically reorganize our entire society and food industry…instead of just letting people take a pill that solves the root problem at its source.

Your satiation reflex gives you a hunger level that keeps you at a weight below that of the obese people you take such pride in denigrating. But if you were to receive the same reflex they do, you would quickly find yourself at the same weight they are.

And now, thanks to the miracles of modern medicine, we have invented a way to cure these people. We have discovered the means to help millions, to extend lifespans and healthspans by decades.

And you can’t stand it.

Because, now all those evil fat people are going to be a healthy weight again. And how will you know who to cast your judgments upon then? Those damn lying, dishonest, evil fat people! Now they’re hiding their fatness from you! They aren’t any more moral or willful, they’re just hiding their evil!

Additionally while GLP-1 can reduce caloric intake, it doesn’t actually fix the poor dietary choices that got you there in the first place.

This shows an ignorance of how obesity actually works. The primary difference between skinny people and fat people is that fat people are just hungrier. Skinny people have functioning satiation reflexes, while fat people’s have been damaged, likely from exposure to highly processed foods during childhood.

Have you learned nothing from the effect of GLP-1 inhibitors? For years, people have been demonizing fat folks as lazy and ignorant, smug in the self-satisfaction that their superior character and intellect could save them from that fate. And now we’ve apparently learned to bottle willpower, to condense “good dietary choices” into an injection. People take these medicines, and suddenly they find themselves drawn to eat a healthy amount of food, and to eat less sugary and refined crap.

This shows beyond any doubt that people were not making poor choices. They didn’t lack willpower. They never had any fundamental character flaws. They just had a broken metabolism that forced them to crave unhealthy levels of unhealthy food. We give them a shot, and somehow this profound flaw in their moral character just vanishes into the wind.

Obesity is a medical problem. It’s not an education, a willpower, or a character problem. We have tens of millions of people who have had a core part of their bodies - their satiation reflex, poisoned and damaged by the food industry. And instead of helping them, we declare their poisoning to be a moral failure.

You have learned nothing.

That’s exactly what they did in 2021. Biden appointed a Republican, Merrick Garland, as his attorney general. And Garland sat on his ass for two years without bringing any charges. The sample that “The Jewish Majority” used was likely wildly unrepresentative of America’s overall Jewish population. This can be seen in their question on religious service attendance.

Only 20% of American Jews attend service monthly or more frequently. Meanwhile, the 37% of The Jewish Majority’s respondents attend service at least once a month. (Item 47.) This indicates that their sample severely over-represents highly religiously active members of the Jewish community. Their report doesn’t state how they recruited their sample, but it seems likely they did so through outreach at synagogues or other spaces that would select for the most religious and heavily practicing of American Jews.

Only the most vile of antisemites conflates Zionism with Judaism. Antisemites believe that Jews are fundamentally foreigners, regardless of where they are born or how they live. An antisemitic American believes that Jews have an intrinsic loyalty and connection to the state of Israel, and any criticism of that hard right government is an attack on Judaism itself. To antisemites, Jews cannot be true Americans. Their loyalty is always suspect. This is the logic of the Japanese internment camps in WW2.

This logic states that if relations between Israel and the US are good, that attacks on Zionism are to be fought as an attack on all Jewish Americans. But this logic also demands that if relations ever sour between Israel and the US, persecution of American Jews is fully justified, as Jews cannot be real Americans.

Hate to break this to you. But let me introduce you to the favorite saying of every Centrist Democrat that gets elected president:

“It is time to heal and move on.”

They care more about peace than justice.

In the US at least, employment discrimination is fine if it’s due to a bona fide requirement of the job. Ie, the person is fundamentally incapable of performing a job even with reasonable accomodation.

An example of reasonable accomodation is a modified computer/desk setup for someone in a wheel chair. They need a bit more room for maneuvering about their workspace. But someone who is paraplegic is perfectly capable of working most office jobs.

Someone in a wheelchair however is fundamentally incapable of performing certain manual labor jobs, and it is perfectly legal to not hire them for those positions. Quadriplegic people can’t work manual construction labor. You’re not pouring concrete when you’re paralyzed from the neck down, and no reasonable accomodation is going to make that possible.

So for vampires, it really depends on what their work-relevant disabilities are, and how difficult it is to accommodate them. Need to be invited in? A reasonable accomodation for a police department would be to simply not have their vampire officers serve search warrants. They can still respond to emergency calls, as a call for help could give implied permission to enter a home. Vampire officers can still patrol, perform traffic duties, perform detective work, etc. But they simply can’t participate in search warrants execution.

The daylight limitations may be more limiting. Sure a vampire could wear a hood and gloves, and that’s little different from someone wearing a hijab. But it’s still dangerous from a workplace safety concern. All it takes is a perp pulling on your hood, and you start boiling? Huge liability risk for the department. So maybe vampire officers will need to be limited to indoor desk work or the night shift. I think hiring them only for the night shift would be a reasonable accommodation.

Overall, I think vampires could easily be employed as police officers. Some reasonable accommodations are required, but a department outright prohibiting the hiring of vampires likely violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.

I hope this continues. I want them to steam back into their home port, in bafflement and shame, as they return home the first ship in the history of US Naval Aviation…to lose its entire complement of aircraft without ever taking a hit. They literally lose every single one of their aircraft.

If you give up the idea of minds themselves being digital, then one interesting possibility is that the world is a training simulation/form of education.

Imagine a far future where humanity has solved most all its problems. A post-scarcity utopia where abundance is the default, no one wants for anything material, and even aging has been cured. Sounds like a great place, right? But utopia has a problem. How do you raise children in an environment where they never need want for anything? How do you raise a child to not be a narcissistic monster when they have access to what amounts to a replicator and an army of servant droids? How do you effectively raise children in a society of immortals, where only a very small number of children are born each year as very few births are required to maintain the population?

One possibility is that you don’t even try to raise children in paradise. Instead, you stick them in a simulation. Just raise them in an era before utopia came about. A simulation based on the 21st century wouldn’t be a bad choice. Early enough in history that people still have material struggles. But late enough that people are experienced with the idea of technological progress. Most ancient societies thought that technology declined with time, rather than advancing. And raising someone through a grinding virtual life as a Medieval peasant or Roman slave is probably far more hardship than the simulators have in mind. The 21st century isn’t a bad choice for a time to set a training simulation. Plus, there’s the whole overarching themes of environmental stewardship and the potential consequences therein.

That would be a pretty strong motivation to create simulations. A society of godlike immortals may simply not be capable of raising sane children. So you don’t even try. You just raise the next generation, few as they may be at any one time, in a virtual recreation of a historical era.

Maybe when you die in this world, you just wake up in the real world. Your education is complete when you’ve demonstrated some level of moral responsibility, to whatever standards the simulators value. Spent your life as a ruthless greedy billionaire? Back in the tank, you’re taking another few simulated lifetimes to work that mess out of you.

The simulation wouldn’t actually include all those billions of stars and galaxies. In this kind of simulation, it’s all just a skybox. If you point a telescope at a distant star, then the simulation spins up a sub-simulation to produce what output a real star would experience in that situation. You include the stars and galaxies because the real universe contains them, and you want your simulation to be realistic.

It actually does make sense that the simulation would be created for us. Compare the level of computing power required to create a limited human-centric simulation to trying to simulate an entire universe. The whole-universe simulation would be some absurd power of ten times more difficult to simulate. If it is possible to simulate a world convincingly, then it’s reasonable to assume that there are many, many more low-res human-scale simulations than giant full universe simulations.

With the whole universe simulation, you also have the problem of scale. It’s hard to imagine that an entire universe can be simulated at the atomic level with anything less complex than the universe itself. Unless you have a universe-sized computer, you probably aren’t simulating an entire universe with atomic accuracy. A human-scale simulation could be performed in a universe no more complex or different from the one we observe. An atomic-scale universe-spanning simulation would have to be run from a higher level that has completely different physical laws than the one we inhabit. Occams’ razor applies. If you want to assume a simulation, it makes sense to assume a type that requires the least exotic higher-order “real” universe possible.
