Seriously, don’t let your people turn fascist too
They are very high yes, partly because they have climbed 25~50% in recent years. I cook most of our food for 3.5 people, shopping at the least expensive store in the area, making a wide range of things but mostly mid to lower cost ingredients. Eat out about once a week, never high priced places. Typically spend around 800/mo.
The issue isn’t so much the explaining, as whether the person doing the listening has the skill sets etc. to understand. Not to mention sometimes the person doing the explaining needs to confirm some information to make sure they are explaining the correct thing. Sometimes people don’t ask the right question, especially if it’s a multi step problem. I still hate it though.
I have been converting to another currency, every penny I can
Yikes, ok I can’t say im surprised, but where did you hear that?
Yes they are. They are working exactly as the people in charge want them to. They want a weak dollar and low interest rates because it allows them to get smaller debt payments, and a weak dollar/inflation makes the numbers go up. It’s a risky game though, because demonetization could mean a worthless dollar and a destroyed economy. But again, I wouldn’t be surprised if they want that to because then they can strip it all for parts and sell it off to our enemies. As long as they get richer they don’t give a shit. They will just convert any currency to whatever new safe haven and continue on.
Best thing ever and not nearly well enough known

In every moment we have a choice, and it’s always worth hoping that with knowing better we will do better.

Noem didn’t do a single thing Trump wouldn’t have encouraged. Fetterman voted for all of it. It’s all lame excuses and scape goating like they always do.

I yanked retirement out and actively leaving now too. IF I ever go back I expect it will be a decade or more because I don’t believe it will be safe any sooner than that.
OK cool it’s good to hear we have the money to give another country a “loan” to basically buy them.

It seems likely to me he/ dems know this will tip off a civil war and they are still hoping to find a different way of dealing with this. Something less bloody. No decent person wants to make the choice that is the final straw before thousands die. Also, even if they recognize it to be inevitable it is necessary to wait until the masses are aligned. The way you-and all the rest of us- are getting fed up is a sign the fruit is almost ripe.
Or they could just be compromised cowards. It doesn’t really matter actually, at some point the tide will flood the city streets and then someone will show up to lead.

The past is not always an indication of the future. Things change and the pressure is building. Germans didn’t resist like this, did they? Hong kong did, but they were only one city in a country that already had an iron grip. So far they are using a mix from several previous fascist takeover playbooks. They will keep doing so. I’m really well stocked as well, so reading your story I wonder how long it would take for me to get through it all. I have been trying, but not hard enough. I am aiming to move overseas within 2 months so I’m not taking any of it with me. I’m sure I can give some of it away but I really need to try harder to use it up.

Im also currently well stocked Dairy free stroganoff Chicken pot pie from home made bone broth Chili casserole Alfredo or other pasta combos Birria or carne asada Ham and brussel sprouts and potatoes from my garden
I don’t spend money on anything, I don’t have many vices. Food and drink are my only real ‘guilty’ indulgence. Plus I stocked up the pantry a bit the last several times there were supply chain concerns. There’s a couple dozen things I could make right now and could likely feed several people for a couple weeks if needed.

It takes time but it’s really not hard

Tell me more about this. Any other tips? Soy sauce?

It didn’t occur to me to use duck fat for fondant potatoes! I have some fat in the freezer oh hell yeah

I have some leftover burger patties and chicken from a couple days ago so I plan to have some leftovers. But I keep a well stocked freezer and dry pantry too. Right now what I am working on making is chicken pot pie filling, the chicken meat and broth is from a leftover slow long cooked Costco chicken. I make the filling and freeze it, and keep crusts in the fridge most of the time so it’s really easy to assemble.
I don’t really think he looks that strange. We come in all sorts of shapes and sizes.
