

I heard it described this way, and I feel there’s some truth in it: “Episode 7 is a love letter to Star Wars, but it failed to actually be Star Wars.” I absolutely feel Abram’s love of the franchise in it, and that’s a good thing. Somehow he just seems to have missed the core of what made the stories feel like Star Wars. He did an admirable job trying to course correct with 9, but man, how do you fix the errors of 8 🥲











Pixel “a” devices are pretty solid and dependable mid-rangers, and they’ll get software support for a long time. I’ve seen Pixel 8a on amazon fairly cheap. Plus, if you get a bootloader unlocked model then you could install a custom ROM like CalyxOS or GrapheneOS if that kind of thing is important to you. Other than that the Motorola G series has a good dollar/value ratio if I remember right, but its been awhile since I had one in hand. Samsung has upped their software support game as well, I think some of their mid-range devices get many years of support now.
