Rachel Pollack’s Doom Patrol! This specific issue was #70 from 1993. It introduced Kate Godwin, the first (and best) transgender superhero in DC’s history.

This was written in the mid 90s and was the term that Rachel herself used.

You’re right. Perhaps I’ve been too focused on American Folk Punk. Next week, I’ll be focusing on gender-diverse members of the scene, but I think it would be awesome to have a week dedicated to international folk/punk. Thank you for your response.
