Pic related Baron Zeppeli is absolutely a dandy boy.
So I started it with Phantom Blood (rip Danny you were too good for this world lil’ pupo) and the entire thing just feels so blatantly queer coded. From the vogue poses MID FIGHT to the insanely buff Johnathan Joestar wrastlin’ with the insanely buff Dio Brando. And THE FASHION, it takes place in the late 1800’s and yet Jojo is rocking some fabulous outfits.
I love it so far btw it’s fantastic and I’m looking forward to Stardust Crusaders and Golden Wind which I know are fan favorites.
The mangaka, Hirohiko Araki, loves fashion and modeling as an artform. A lot of his outfits and poses are inspired by modeling images. He loves the masculine form as well. And yet, dude is straight (and an ally I believe). He talks about having women and crushes and stuff in his notes. Just an artist loving art, and it’s amazing.
Edit: also a wife and two kids

Shit, and here I thought he wasn’t. Cool none the less, it’s always refreshing to see a straight dude being open about stuff like this.
The current JoJo has a brother who essentially identifies as a girl and JoJo makes a point several times so far to be like “I don’t understand why so many people have a problem with this”
i love how he bases his poses off modelling poses, seeing the art and the reference from vogue or whatever is so cool
also, he could be bi
he could be bi
true, but I try not to speculate
same, but i don’t really see a difference in speculating straight vs bi. like if saying someone is bi is speculating but saying someone is straight isn’t that seems heteronormative to me
In this case we have confirmation that Araki is at least straight, as a base case. Any suggestion of a little zest on top of that is speculation. It would work the same way if Araki was a gay woman, married to a woman, and drawing brolic men. We know Araki would be gay in this case, and we could only speculate about bisexuality.
I also feel like this is the case with Baki. There’s a deep affection for the male form. To the point where it’s borderline erotic.
I’m sure you can already guess why they’re fan favorites 😏
I love the fashion in it and I’m not even a fashionable person (I wear sweatpants) but it’s so cool.
Fellas, is it gay to cuddle with your homie for twenty years and then take over his body
