This is not opinion or leftist. It’s news about fighting in the party, which is factual, recent, and on-topic.

Removal of this post is admitting that this sub is only about being a safe space for conservatives to circle-jerk while ignoring reality.

I encourage a discussion about the recent conflicts inside the party, how that might impact the party moving forward, and what can be done to prevent this divide.

You guys realize that a lot of conservatives don’t like politicians, right? Also, conservatives are not a monolith.

Think of how a lot of leftists don’t like the DNC.

The DNC is not a leftist organization. The RNC is thoroughly conservative.

And conservatism is so rooted in hierarchy that performative agreement and uniform action are central to right-wing ideology. The origin of “right-wing” was French republicans (little R) figuring someone’s gotta be the king. They just felt hereditary life-appointment was a subpar way to pick one guy who gets to decide what a whole country wants.

There’s a reason zero Republicans voted for Newt Gingrich’s healthcare plan, when a Democrat proposed it. It’s not because they hate Newt Gingrich.

There’s a reason Mitt Romney was excoriated for acknowledging publicly-visible high crimes. Even when those crimes threatened the lives of literally every federal elected official besides the guy who committed them. It’s not because Mitt changed drastically in the decade since he was the face of the party.

Totally agree. I think it’s healthy to say “I don’t like this person on my team” or “I refuse to vote for someone because they are a criminal, a convicted rapist, etc.

Leftists do it all the time. I think it should be more acceptable for righties to criticize their own. After all, I think we can both agree that Greene and Boebert aren’t doing anything but making the GOP look foolish as a whole.

The only people I know who talk about those two are people on the left.

I agree they make normal conservatives look wacky.

Haley at least is trying to get things done that benefit working people. I can’t say Boebert or Greene have done anything to help anyone.
