    The quote is literally talking about reformists and opportunists which is what Democratic Socialists are. What is anti-marxist is reformism. A varguard party can works towards reform to gain the trust of the working class, but the core idea of “Democratic socialist” which the term itself is revisionist since it assumes that 1) the current governemnt is democratic which is not 2) socialism can be undemocratic which is impossible. Reformism is revisionism. Socialism cannot bring about with reforms and reforms are never the end goal.

    Lenin is referring to reformist “marxists.” Social democrats in Lenin’s time are the same as the democratic socialists of today. The meaning of social democrats has changed.

      Oh wait, were the Soc Dems back then actually trying to get socialism through reform as opposed to their current formation of acquiring concessions through reform?

      Well that makes me look ignorant now doesn’t it? I gotta do some reading.
