I got curious about how bad Hexbear was according to sh.itjust.works and told myself “i should document it and make a post about it if it’s really that bad”

Straight up some comment on Bluesky mentioned it amongst all the recent bans. So far it seems like the kind of old internet vibes I enjoyed about early reddit and digg with a progressive focus. Very cool.

Last time we got mentioned on Bluesky, like 40 people joined and half of them got immediately banned for not following the rules lol.

Welcome and hopefully things go better this time.

I’m gonna chip in as an admin and say a bunch of the people that joined alongside that blyausky wave at the time were right-wing infiltrators trying to take advantage of the the onshoring of new members to try and “raid” the site.

Needless to say, unlike Aosky, we took care of every right-wing anti-trans troll by swiftly taking every single one of them behind a barn to admire the secret flower garden we grow back there just for them.

I was thinking of the person who posted an introduction full of slurs against LGBTQ+ people who was totally genuine in trying to “reclaim” them and got banned within like 2 minutes lol.

A lot of people didn’t really understand this doesn’t function like Twitter/Bluesky either and isn’t really well built to do like art (some erotic) commissions. They were posting their real names and other social links.

Some people DID read the rules and threw a fit about having to content warning their leather kink posts and so never made accounts in the first place.

            Interesting time.
