I was posting on other instances (lemmy.world) and checked their modlog to make sure I’m not banned or defederated. Know most people here probably just follow Monero news, so it’s fine if it’s better to for me to just make an account on a larger instance.

Anyways, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a meta discussion. How have you all been this year, and what do you all think of the fediverse from these past six months?

The lemmy software seems to have gotten rather stable, we have had decent growth and no big issues, everything you’d want for a niche forum. I am quite happy with the current state of monero.town :)

I like monero.town too, thanks for your work on it.

But Jeknilah seems to be on to something with the comments not showing in other instances.

Is there a way that one instance can filter out or block users from a non-local instance from having their comments display?

I’ve made some elsewhere in non subscribed, non local instances, and while they show for me in my profile and while logged in, they do not in fact display publically when checking that same instance in a separate uncached browser while logged out. And I rarely, if ever, get replies or up/down votes from comments made elsewhere.

Out of curiosity, I opened a separate browser to check a bunch of comments I’d made at lemmy.world and while they show for me in my comment history while logged in to my local instance on my profile, they do not show when browsing while not logged in at the other non-local/non-subscribed instance.

This is actually my main account on the fediverse. The fediverse works best when the users are spread out on many small instances. I like this instance in particular because it doesn’t block major instances and requires no email address
