The other night I woke up at 3 AM cause in a dream I set a pop bottle on the ground right next to a table as I was walking by. And my brain went, wait… There’s a table there to set it on, this is stupid.

I definitely have lucid dreams sometimes. Usually for a nap, as opposed to actual sleep time. One time I was dreaming I had jury duty and realized it was a dream (can’t remember why) and just said “fuck this, I’m out” and just flew out of there, breaking down a wall in the process.

This happened to me a week or two ago.

I actually wrote about the dream to some friends in our Discord right when I woke up because I didn’t want to forget it, so here’s the story:

I was just having a someone pleasant dream - at least not BAD dream - where the setting was that I lived in an apartment that was kind of in a mall. The front door was out into a big indoor area and right next door was a steakhouse. There were people sitting in this open area and one asked if I’d ever eaten there (I hadn’t).

But then some scrawny looking guy came up asking saying he also lived in the building trying to get me to sign some petition. I said no.

Later, for whatever reason, it was snowing in this building (lol, dreams), and my friends and I had to go to some location to break out yet another friend from some old timey, wooden jail cell! In the process I took off my watch because I didn’t want to damage it. But accidentally left it.

On our way back I realized the error, but we were close to the apartment so I decided to just get the extra friend into the home first. So we go to some back door to this apartment, and as I open the door, letting some snow in, I realize it was unlocked. The apartment had been robbed! The scrawny guy had been casing the joint!

But the reason I write all of this to begin with is that a weird thing happened I don’t know I’ve experienced before: the me in the dream said, “this is a dream, fuck this” and I instantly woke up. I’m still all groggy as I type.

    Thanks brain.

I lucid dreamed one time. I woke up as soon as I recognized I was dreaming, went back to sleep and started dreaming again, then woke up again. This happened four or five times, every time was shorter–I’d recognize more quickly that I was dreaming, and immediately wake up. Frustrating.

As someone who has lucid dreams, dont verbalise it or focus on the thought that its a dream. Makes it easier.

in the past ive had a recurring dream where im playing basketball and jump like 50 metres, then i realize im dreaming as i fall to my death and just wake up.

as a kid i did have a few lucid dreams, but i still can’t change this particular dream as an adult, so i think it’s some sort of metaphor about strength/power or imagination maybe

I’ve had a similar one, but not recurring. I was starting to lucid dream and was running up a skyscraper. But I’m deathly afraid of heights and realized this on my way up. Then I lost my power, I managed to cling on to an overhang and was fucking terrified and woke up. The next night I found I had fucking sweat stains on my sheets and opted to sleep on the couch, and washed them the next day.
