You just have to love the TFL staff who do this.

Me and one other house on the street decorated our front. I had a home assistant automation set up so that the porch light was pulsing an ominous red. If my doorbell camera noticed movement, the porch light would go purple and the hallway light would flash quickly to emulate thunder.

Easily got 40+ little monsters and their parents, and one really polite little skeleton even said “I really like your decorations” which just made my whole night because it seemed like she had really taken it all in. (Also: what kind of the kid is that polite and that observant at that age? I really hope she goes far)

Anyway, I bought about £10 worth of sweets, and had to run to the cornershop 2-3 times. All in all, I spent about £40-50 in sweets alone, with very little leftover.

My mum and my uncle came over, and we sat around drinking and talking and getting up every five minutes to answer the door. It was a pretty good night. 10/10 would happily do again
