Well, yeah, when their marketing team makes a schpiel about a character having largely been interpreted as a “good girl” when their own studio has just made an interpretation that was dark and damaged… they’d probably want people to forget about it.
I mean, it’s all PR bullshit anyway, the quality isn’t going to be determined by how unique the interpretation is… just on how good the interpretation is. I think there’s a good chance it will be well done… but until it’s released to a wider audience, there’s no legitimate way to know.
