I just tested the newest install of piefed on a small family server. Its a bit heavy on the CPU side, but its working!

This is also a test to see if comments are coming in. I think they are?

        nice! Coo.

Now I think I may get dedicated hardware…at some point. Looks like the infa is bouncing between peertube and piefed as the most cpu intensive apps. Which is fine,. its processing all the votes.

Yes, the more Lemmy communities you subscribe to the heavier the federation traffic will be.

PieFed communities federate votes more efficiently (in batches) so those won’t bog you down as much. So if you can avoid [email protected] and instead join [email protected] and avoid [email protected] and instead join [email protected], etc etc you might have a better time of it.

that would explain what im seeing on the logs :) Thanks. Ill do so.

How do we subscribe to Feeds such as: https://piefed.social/f/smallweb ? I tried [email protected] but it cant find anything on the generic search tool.

Such an awesome system, thanks again.

https://piefed.chrisco.me/f/[email protected] worked perfectly. Thats cool.

Yeah in PieFed the search tool is just for searching.

To add a feed, go to https://piefed.chrisco.me/feeds then click ‘Add remote feed’. Same general pattern as for communities.

Looks like it did for the first user. After that, its just normal signup.
