I don’t keep up with why people do or don’t like things that I don’t have strong feelings about, but I would put money on “haters” having their own reasons for not liking this show, and you simply rejecting those explanations, based on this conversation.
No nobody can say why. They just throw around vagueries like “bad writing” “it’s not like the game” it’s meaningless without explanation, but they never even try. I would even totally accept “too silly” or “meh wasn’t my thing” but no, they bash it in a way that you’re left unsure if they even watched it at all.

Too silly is an opinion, opinions can’t be wrong. Bad writing is trying to establish a fact that isn’t there.
