I’m really getting tired of this narrative that everything the alt-right is doing is the left’s fault. “The left” didn’t abandon anyone, you just don’t bother listening

Where I live young men from rural areas stay there to keep family business/farms going while women run away to big cities to get education and good jobs. This is everything that those that wanted to empower women wanted but in the meantime it looks like it’s more women getting higher education and easy corporate jobs. If you’re going to pretend that’s not happening or say it’s some kind of payback you’re going to let fascists win, because they’re much better at exploiting this kind of grievances.

Not only its left fault, its women fault too! Nice, but you gotta push a little harder - there’s potential to blame it on the colored people and transgenders too

I’m not convinced young men were ignored, they just weren’t put in the spotlight and given everything they wanted for once. Instead other people got the spot light, and so now those young men hate those people because they have the mental maturity of a 10 year old.

This isn’t about ignoring young men, it is about exploiting them. This is a seriously dumb take that is akin to victim blaming.

The “left” not exploiting young men enough!? We need to charge them a monthly fee so they can learn how to treat women properly and the importance of consent. Only then can we turn the tide of Tatism amiriiight.

I mean look at the responses in this thread… the instant demonization of men is a real thing. There is a rhetorical hole that makes men and boys feel ostracized and isolated, and that’s what the right if targeting. We can’t sit here and pretend that isn’t real, patriarchy is ingrained in society and hurts everyone.

Yes, what’s going is that some guy says “women need to give me sex no matter what”. The left says “ehhh. No she doesn’t, what makes you say that?” The right says “yeah bro, you’re totally right!”

So yes, the left makes them feel ostracized and shamed for having opinions that should be ostracized and shamed. There is also help, but you have to take it. Meanwhile the right happily exploits them while agreeing wholeheartedly.

You do realize you’re creating a caricature here right? Very few young men and boys start from the position of “women need to give me sex no matter what”

Maybe I have a different perspective that’s evolved as my son has aged, but your rhetoric is profoundly unhelpful for young men just trying to figure themselves and the world out.

Well, feel free to share your perspective. I’m neither male, nor a parent. I do have to deal with men who have these issues though.
