Look, I’m not saying that you have to become Chinese.

I’m saying that one day, you will look in the mirror and already be Chinese.

I totally thought Carney would start lecturing Xi on human rights or some shit. It’s refreshing to see libs not fuck something up completely for once.

Considering what I hear from every lib I know on China on a daily basis, yeah, I’m very pleasantly surprised, but am definitely experiencing a bit of ironically childish glee that our politicians know when to shut up and save face and when to be the adult, unlike some countries’ presidents, whose staffers probably have to carry packs of crayons and colouring books.

(But also not too shocked a career politician could be careful in that context, remember these libs are people who can talk about some Chinese cultural stuff divorced from geopolitics. My liberal circles… there’s a reason I go as a panda bear to the dress up parties I can’t go to dressed as Lenin. No one sees a Commie Bear like they should. Being a Marxist-Leninist who doesn’t like to admit to being one, surrounded by liberals stuck in the Cold War, means some level of constant vigilance. When I have an excuse to dress as a panda bear, I actually get to drop that, because these people do not see what I see. A lot of libs are like that WRT countries they hate and broad cultural symbols of those countries.)
