The last Windows machine I used ran Windows XP (started as ME, then upgraded to XP) on a HP desktop. Linux was from then on.

Desktop looked like this (it had a built-in CD holder at the top):

        CD holder

Usually that’s a drink holder. I mean, technically it could hold CDs, but what, like 2 tops??

        HP Pavillion

        Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time.

Windows XP (started as ME, then upgraded to XP) on a HP desktop. Linux was from then on.

I wish I could have made linux stick earlier. I said it before, but I think the crossover point between my technical ability and linux’s approachability hit the sweet spot recently.

My next machine was when I was in college for CS. It was expected of us to use Solaris and/or Linux for many assignments. I decided to dive in. It was definitely hit/miss for a long while, but I stuck with it. I’m glad of it.
