        It’s almost like they don’t want a post-scarcity future where people are self-employed in worker co-ops, with massively local production of most good via traditional or additive manufacturing. Oh, and abundant energy for all of it via renewables.

        Does that sound about right in how to explain a functional form of socialism?

          Self-employed? Oh no, no, the Party will decide what you do, comrade! And the Party wants more tanks!

          To be fair, there were attempts to make worker co-ops in the USSR, but they did not last long.
