Police in the town of Savage, Minnesota, are now investigating an attack on a little girl at a local school by assailants, schoolchildren, who told officials they beat her up because "she wasn't Muslim."
I know you referred to radical Islam. That’s why I asked what your definition of “radical” was so we could come to a consensus.
lol I knew you’d stick on that number. Just because we don’t have a record of white supremacists killing more people than “radical” Muslims in recent history doesn’t mean white supremacy (and racism in general) hasn’t caused the death, torture suffering or exploitation of countless others over our species’ history and shaped the path of entire nations and groups of people, mostly for the worse.
If you’re just focusing on recent deaths, you’re missing the bigger picture. One is a toxic sect of a religion, the other is a product of the way our entire society is run, irrespective of religion.
So yes, white supremacy or any kind of racist thoughts actions and behaviors I would argue are WAYYYYYY
more detrimental.
If you’re just focusing on recent deaths, you’re missing the bigger picture.
The bigger picture would be the trend, historically deaths by white supremacists are significantly higher. They’ve now moved into the very rare category, there is 0.125% chance that if you’re murdered it’s by a white supremacists.
So yes, white supremacy or any kind of racist thoughts actions and behaviors I would argue are WAYYYYYY more detrimental.
The statistics support white supremacy being being more of a threat than radical Islam in the last 10 years. Doubling, tripling, or quadrupling a really small number is still a really small number.
Nahh dawg you’re just moving the goalposts to minimize the issue. Racism is a much bigger problem in the world and in our global history than a single sect of a single religion that’s only ~1,400 years old, regardless of what our particular country’s violence stats are in this moment.
We’ve lost entire populations and cultures due to racism. Our society as it is today has developed into an unfriendly one for those who have been most affected.
No you just claimed I needed to provide a good guy white supremacists but wouldn’t explain why until I asked 3 times. Even then it required a misinterpretation of my original point.
You still haven’t explained how something that is extremely rare is a threat to society. Your only attempt at doing so was to say white supremacy was a threat in the past, which it was, but that’s because white supremacy was prevalent in the past.
You are completely missing the following which I have repeated so many times so I’m just assuming now you aren’t even paying attention, but here I go again:
in order for the original comparison between white supremacists and “radical” Muslims (which you have still not defined) to be worth making at all, you need to show the difference between a Muslim and a white supremacist. We’ve already established not all Muslim’s interpret the Islamic teachings as requiring them to be violent or forcefully spread their faith, so we should also expect the same from at least some white supremacists you want to make the argument that they’re not as bad. So can you name a single white supremacist who is not a racist?
white supremacy (and racism) is still prevalent. Just because it doesn’t hit your murder threshold for concern doesn’t mean it hasn’t literally shaped out society’s history and continues to do so. There’s more harm that can be done systemically than simply the murder of a few in one nation at a single point in time, so your insistence on only keeping the conversation there is indicative that you don’t want to address the larger problem because it’s too hard for you to argue away.
I cannot make it simpler than that. If you still don’t understand then I suggest doing some research on your own, preferably outside of the conservative bubble.

Why do I need show a difference?

Why does there need to be a good white supremists for their actions to pose a serious threat to society? They can be bad but still do little to no harm to the population as a whole.

The murder statistic, which you provided, is merely a quantifiable metric to show how rare white supremacy is. Since you have yet to provide any statistic to show white supremacy is common it’s safe to assume white supremacy is uncommon.
doesn’t mean it hasn’t literally shaped out society’s history
How does the saying go past results are not an indication of future performence.
These are the same problems with your argument through this whole thread you’ve yet to provide any evidence to back your claims.

You’re confusing racism being bad with white supremacy being prevalent. The stats don’t show white supremacy being prevalent.
Bee stings kill more people than white supremacy but you’re worried about WASPs instead of wasps.
Considering I’ve been pushing back on the prevalence being irrelevant to the original point of this thread, I don’t think I’m the confused one lol.

Ok I guess you just aren’t going to get it. ¯\_(ツ)\_/¯
