Rising seas and eroding shorelines have now claimed a half-dozen houses in Rodanthe, N.C., in the past four years, as many property owners race to elevate their homes or retreat from the waterfront.
These ones are the FEMA insurance. I don’t want to subsidize wealthy shitheads rebuilding right next to water over and over. As long as rebuild counts as new construction this makes sense to me, help people move away.
