When I was in boot camp we had a guy that struggled immensely. He had to take the ASVAB multiple times to get the bare minimum score to get in.

After about a month of having other recruits hold his hand at every step, he finally admitted that he had a learning disability he didn’t disclose.

So he got moved to a special group filled with people like him whose boot camp lasted twice as long by design.

Long story short, this still happens.
