If you were to build a new PC, what is for you the best way to approach storage management?

I’m thinking of a small, very fast boot drive, a larger drive for installing games and 2 budget drives running with RAID1 for data storage.

IMO, SSDs are so much cheaper now than 10-15 years ago, that I switched to all SSDs for storage, including my media server. They’re faster, cooler (needing fewer fans in your rig), and need less power. I only use HDDs for backups now.

Get a 2TB NVMe SSD for your OS and games and some SATA SSDs for general storage. Forget about RAID. It’s more of a hassle than what it’s worth. Use a drive pooling solution if needed.
