    Those fancy colors were used specifically so that nobility could be identified, reason being that European knights had come to an agreement that knights would be taken hostage instead of killed during battle, mostly because at a person to person level, most knights and nobles were actually friends or family of any knights and nobles they were likely to come across in a battle.

    The most direct malice one noble would exercise towards the other within the average is making them serve the drinks during any post battle feasting.

        Agincourt I’d say is the most famous example of European combatants hitting the “Long trained soldiers vs cheaply equipped and drilled randos” wall.

        “The flower of french nobility wilted at agincourt.”

        Translation,

        “A bunch of inbred morons in heavy armor forgot that heavy things sink in the mud and become easy targets for massed arrow fire.”
