You gotta think we’re pretty stupid to think we’ll not recognize a cybertruck. We’re not as dumb as you, asshead. That’s why we didn’t buy one.

Well, that’s fake. Nice idea, but every single picture displays signs of manipulation: Incorrect brightness values, compression artifacts (strangely stronger around the sign), mismatching perspective or difference of quality (sign is more clear than the uncensored part of the license plate below).

Plus who would possibly see a cyber truck and be like “oh okay it’s not a tesla phew”. that’s gotta be the most distinct car since like the Pontiac Aztec or the pt cruiser (both of which were also ugly pieces of shit)

It just has real heavy JPEG.

Here’s a Reddit post for the Toyota cybertruck, which looks pretty legit to me. I also really love it - I can’t tell if it’s the fact that it’s an incredibly unconvincing camouflage, or that it looks like it’s trying to ruin Toyota’s good name by signing it on this piece of junk.

There’s also a picture of a Tesla with an Audi sticker going around, but that one was posted to Reddit two years ago so before Elon Musk went full nazi. I like that one because if I saw it in traffic I would have genuinely believed it was an Audi - I don’t give enough of a shit about modern car design to notice. Maybe until it starts making fart sounds or crashes into something because the driver is occupied with the gigantic dashboard iPad. But I digress.

Not everything on the internet is fake. There’s a bunch of Tesla owners out there, and a lot of them are looking for ways to communicate that driving their car is not an endorsement of fascism.

I’ve been considering buying some nice stickers that can achieve similar effects without destroying the car, and leaving them under the windshield wipers of parked Teslas around town with alongside a friendly note. I’m sure some people would be happy to use them.

If you’re rebadging your Tesla because you feel some second hand shame for owning one now that it’s clear to anyone with eyes that Elon Musk is a literal Nazi, just sell it and buy a different EV.

I think a lot of people are in really deep from 2021/2022 car purchases and will lose their ass if they sell it.

I also think 99.999 percent of people will have next to no reaction seeing a model 3 or whatever on the road because they are common traffic.

My guess would be that people putting these badges on their car think it’s funny.

I’m glad I’m fiscally and technologically conservative. I bought my first hybrid in 2012 (after the tech had 2-3 generations to mature). I’m considering going with a PHEV for my next car, which will probably be in about 10 years or so.

It was only very recently that other car brands started adopting Tesla’s ports. Probably most non-Tesla EVs won’t be found at a Tesla charging station.

With that said, is it really that uncommon for EV owners to not have a charger at home?

Know what? I endorse it. Aside from the cyber truck, if you want to pretend, ok take that as “I was bamboozled”. But the cyber truck… There’s no hiding that. There’s no hiding the timeframe on that. You can’t just call that POS a Toyota

Sorry, but that’s a bridge too far. Deal with the consequences… It’s just spray paint, if anything it’s protective compared to the lack of any kind of paint. Take it on the chin

If anyone knows where to buy one of these decals, please let me know. My parents bought a Tesla several years ago because of environmentally friendly ambitions and I’d love to get them one of these decals. I tried to Google it but “car logo decal” wasn’t getting me results like this meme shows.

Somehow both anti-fascist left wing activists (paint, scratch, protest) and anti-ev right wing reactionists/“car enthusiasts” (scratch, cord cutting, gas pump-sucking circle jerking). Yet, Teslas keep selling and people keep buying, despite getting attacked from “both sides”. I think it’s a great example showing the general population does not give a fuck. The apathetic population outnumbers the voting population. The nearsighted self-interested demographic (tax, rebate, and fuel incentives) prevails over the shouty demographic.

      It’s vocal minorities all around.

I’m a pro-ev general vehicle enthusiast. I’m surrounded by Teslas. I can’t knock Tesla for putting evs on the road. I’m still waiting for the real manufacturers to get up to speed. At least we had some good PHEV options?
