    It’s also because the country directly between Russia and the US is Canada. I think people consider it less because maps are flat and ignore the poles. They’ll be targeted first for invasion after their economy is crippled by tariffs. I wouldn’t be surprised if both the US and Russia attack. Vlad wouldn’t want all that juicy territory just going to the US. This is all a colonialist land and resources grab driven by climate change, again not fully being anticipated by your average person.

      There isn’t infrastructure on the Russian/North side, almost no people there. The people and valuable stuff is all within 100 km of the US border.

      Even if all the ice melts (when there are going to be real problems) Russia doesn’t have anywhere near the capacity to launch an amphibious attack against Canada.

      Taking into account how their invasion of Ukraine, with massive land borders, was botched, there is no chance they ll succeed.
