President Donald Trump has postponed 25% tariffs on many imports from Mexico and some imports from Canada for a month amid widespread fears of the economic fallout from a broader trade war.
It’s also because the country directly between Russia and the US is Canada. I think people consider it less because maps are flat and ignore the poles. There isn’t infrastructure on the Russian/North side, almost no people there. The people and valuable stuff is all within 100 km of the US border.
