Not much of a difference from last week. Didn’t really get much play time, and what I did, spent pretty much all on Phoenix Wright.

Still playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations .

Just started the 5th case, which is apparently the last one. Loved all the cases till now, and the last one seems to be a great conclusion.

3rd case was really fun, at least the beginning.

spoiler

Also, I really hate Dahlia now.

Dropped Just Cause 3.

Liberated the first province, and most of the second province, but the difficulty level of remaining bases increased a lot. Many elite level enemies and lot more enemies. Doesn’t make the game too difficult, but I was just playing it for mindless blowing up stuff, so when I couldn’t do that anymore, didn’t want to continue playing it.

Should just get EDF for this mindless killing stuff.

Started Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

I wasn’t planning to start it anytime soon, dunno why I did.

I am only about 4-5 hours in, and for now it feels “Dragon Age” to me. Maybe it will change when I play more, but the level design and characters interaction etc. feel similar to Inquisition. Character models and visual styles are of course different, as well as combat, but playing the game feel like I am playing a sequel to Inquisition, not some other random game.

Plan to keep playing it as a secondary game.

On a separate note, Xenoblade Chronicles X got preloaded! Can’t wait for the release!

That’s all on my end. Unless I forgot some game again. What about all you? What have you been playing?

I’m replaying Pokemon sword and I’m almost done with the main game. Going to be going into the dlc fresh ( I’ve never played it before ) and after I’m done with the game I’m probably going to replay a Kirby game. Maybe forgotten land or the dream friend game

Bridge to the Turnabout is peak! Enjoy the ride :)

I am still playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2 while waiting for Xenoblade Chronicles X (Thursday cannot come soon enough!). I finally managed to pull the elusive blade KOS-MOS, but I am still trying to get the 3 remaining rare blades I am missing. This gacha system is so horrible 😭

It is! I am still in the start, 5-1, but it’s going great.

XC-2 was my first XC so it holds a special place for me, but not a fan of the gacha system. Mechanically, it’s probably my least favourite game in trilogy.

Still getting through Age of Calamity, but took a break to start Lost in Random. It’s been pretty fun. I love the Tim Burton style game, the dice and cards. We’ll see how the rest of the game goes.

I am not a big fan of roguelikes (or roguelites) but Lost in Random is on my wishlist. Should try it soon.

It’s been about 138h, but I actually finished Witcher 3 + all DLCs this week. I completed every single quest I came across, apart from the two ‘Collect all Gwent cards’ ones. It’s been quite a ride! I’d recommend the game for it’s characters, story telling and moral dilemmas. The gameplay was good too, although even on death march, it was quite easy - of course I was rich and somewhat overleveled from having done everything, so take that with a grain of salt. I finished at lvl 51 with the final quest being marked as lvl 49. Despite other claims, the Switch port was mostly good. Although, halfway through Blood and Wine, about 125h in, the game started to lag in fights with multiple opponents and never stopped doing so. I don’t know what happened, even the big bandit camps didn’t lag much before that.

Anyways, this weekend I’m going to start another run - this time doing a sign build! Last time I was focused on alchemy and basically only used Quen. There are so many gameplay options I never tried much and - nah, just kidding. I’m playing some Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, actually my first entry in the series, as a sort of palate cleanser and then grab a JRPG from my backlog.

lol, you had me for a moment. Restarting a game after playing it for 138 hours, oof!

Switch port is pretty great, except when you watch PS5 video and realise hoe beautiful the game is. Other than that, had no issue on Switch, it looks and play great (specially if toy never played the game anywhere else)

I plan to continue with God of War (PS4).

For a game that is rated 18+ I’ve not actually had many moments where I’ve had to stop my kids (10+) from watching me play and they have been enjoying it with me. I’m normally quite careful but the main gameplay is just fighting creatures and puzzle solving so it’s just the boss fights that give it a higher rating, well so far that’s what it seems.

The story and characters are excellent and the dynamic of Kratos and Atreus is something special. Also it’s a really good looking game and much better than the current gens “blurriness” that everything seems to have nowadays

Yeah, there are some cut scenes, and some finishers that are ultra violent (if I am remembering right).

One thing that felt different but I never put my finger on, until I read somewhere, is that game is made like a single shot film, there is no camera cut in whole game. Gives the game a very interesting look and feel.

As a father, some Kratos and Aterus moments can be very touching.

Of course still playing Monster Hunter. So far only one monster I really don’t like. Hirabami is almost constantly afloat and almost all you get to see and work with is the end of its tail. And that’s by design, considering the tail can be broken 5 times in total. >.> Nu Udra is really cool though. I don’t know if the octopus frame has ever been used by another monster before, but it’s certainly very new and refreshing to me!

But with the random nature of grinding, I needed another game to fill short gaps in case a session ever ended early, so I started Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2. This decision may have been influenced by recent news, but I would never admit that. I was surprised that most of my muscle memory from decades ago is still intact! It also reminded me how unbelievable it is that the series every reached a point where the games were considered bad. It’s such a simple concept that still works, how did they mess that up so badly?

I haven’t seen any credits yet, and they don’t mean much to me anyway. My time won’t be very telling either, because I’m taking my time. I’m an armor collector, so I’m not moving on until I have everything I want. And since armor is now unisex, I have both male and female sets to make!

          Ah, okay.

If they are unisex, doesn’t mean they both have same? Or do they still have different armors, but both can be worn by any gender?

The sets are still clearly the previous male and female ones, but they don’t refer to them as such and you have access to both armor sets regardless of your character. The best part about it is that you don’t even have to commit to one, you can cherry-pick each individual piece from both sets.

So far so good. My biggest complaint is how often it crashes, but good news for everyone else, it seems to be only happening to people playing on the first edition of the XBox Series X (lucky me!). It seems to happen in sections. I had to go through one major dialogue, about 5 times because of would crash in the middle of it, but then I might play for another hour before it happens again.

I’ve always been a big fan of Fallout and Elder Scrolls, and it fits right in with those, but it’s different enough that I’m still learning how the systems work.

I guess the game is a lot smaller than it looks, my son’s already finished the main story, and half of the “world map” doesn’t exist in the game, so I’m wondering if we’ll see those parts in DLC or something. Still, kind of shady to show us this big map and not actually have anything behind it.

Oh yeah, someone mentioned the crashing here before. That’s pretty weird that first party game crashes on all first edition consoles. They should do something about it.

Is it possible that your son only did main quests, and those areas are for side quests etc?

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations

About your spoiler: We all do.

    Playing Trails Through Daybreak II!

Almost done with the “Fragments” Chapter which was quite good. At the start it just looks like an intermission/relax/beach episode, but then things get way more serious, we finally get Quatre’s backstory and also more information about the D∴G Cult.

I also really like how it fixes one of my complaints from last week.

    Spoiler

I mentioned last week that I wanted the “Dead Ends” to be avoidable with good choices, and this chapter did that. I didn’t even realize I had dodged some deaths until I reached a mandatory “Dead End” much later and saw the timeline chart.
