I tell terrible jokes.
I could never get into Persona 3, but I loved 4 and 5, they all have some pretty damn good music.
I see, I haven’t played it very much yet, so it seems like most other FPS games with an added “number go up” part. I haven’t really tried to play it without guns, but the hacking stuff does seem pretty neat, if I finish this playthrough and want a second playthrough I’ll probably try and focus on using guns as little as possible.
I’ve been playing it a bit recently, I didn’t get it when it came out. It’s…fine? Like it’s not a game with gripping social satire or anything, it’s just a vague sort of shooty bang bang sort of game, if you like FPS games with RPG elements, you’ll probably like it.
US warmongering fucked them over really hard. The people are poor, but the land is rich, the wealth just flows away from the people and into the hands of US corporations.
I wouldn’t really say this is 4-Chan adjacent though? 4-Chan made a knock off pokemon game in the past, and it’s about as bad as you’d expect. I’m seriously starting to think I’m playing an entirely different game to everyone else here, I just haven’t seen the stuff people are upset about. The text of the game is very edgy, but the gameplay is just fairly generic. It could maybe be a statement about video games and pokemon in general maybe, but I wouldn’t even give them that much credit. The writing just feels lazy, to try and be edgy for edgy’s sake, but the gameplay doesn’t at all, it feels more tacked on than anything else. It’s barely in the game.
But again, maybe I’m not seeing the same thing other people are and I’m not entirely sure why I’m missing these things if they’re so obvious to other people who have played it. This isn’t me saying “everyone else is wrong” rather, it’s me asking “Why am I not seeing this thing other people are seeing?”
It’s more strange than anything else to me. Feels like I downloaded an entirely different game to everyone else. There is edgy text on some loading screens and descriptions in the game, and that’s about it really. It’s like the person writing the game and steam description and the people actually designing the gameplay never actually interacted at all. The game just says “Wow, this is so horrible, aren’t we so cool and edgy?” but the gameplay isn’t really like that at all. As I said somewhere else, this isn’t subtext, it’s just text, and if I didn’t know what the advertising was like I’d assume it’s a bad translation before assuming the guy doing the writing was just an edgy loser. Feels more like a marketing gimmick more than anything else, as if they just had the cutesy discount pokemon and the text was just fairly generic, it wouldn’t have gotten nearly the attention it did. It’s controversy for controversy’s sake more than anything else.
The game itself is fine, it’s a fun, if fairly generic “survival” sort of game with heavy base building mechanics. But the memes about it all became about “edgy pokemon with guns and brutality” so this very PG sort of game is being treated like some R rated gorefest by idiots trying to be funny because their favourite youtuber made a joke about it. So naturally CHUDs love it because they get an excuse to be openly horrible.
Oh for sure, but people still reacted negatively. The idea was good, but the way it was implemented was not. That’s more what I’m getting at.
I’m hoping this is taken as a sign by the CPC to have their youth wing engaged more actively in politics. A lot of these rules seem well meaning, but lack understanding of the things they’re censoring, enabling or limiting. Party membership skews older, so it would be nice to see more active attempts at getting the youth’s voices heard.
Only three? I’m surprised.
Starcraft can be 2v2 or 3v3 or even 4v4, though that is far, far less common for more serious competitive players, as it’s way too easy to just focus fire one opponent as a group and then move onto the next once they’re destroyed.
Expect communism to get heavily nerfed in every single balance path. Paradox games’ fanbase is largely reactionary, and they love to complain. HOI4 had a similar issue where the USSR was nerfed and Nazi Germany was buffed practically every single patch. I expect Vic3 will have similar issues.
UAE and Saudi Arabia beating China. They could at least try and make this stuff believable.
I tend to find the trolls are fairly easy to spot though, someone saying something naive or problematic will react with confusion when called out, a troll will flat out ignore the response in favour of pretending the other person is saying something else entirely. Baby leftists learn, trolls ignore.
Looks like I’m learning Godot for my next project!
Our country is run by Rupert Murdoch and the average person is far more likely to blame immigrants for their own financial woes than the billionaires and millionaires actually causing the problem. We’re also literally the worst country in the world when it comes to combating climate change and our mining companies are practically allowed to murder people and get away with it. A lot of protection for millionaires and billionaires, and a huge amount of stooges ready to defend why them being immune to the law is a good thing actually.
Finally, Australia gets to be #1 at something!
We’re fucked.
I think a lot of them will try to go all “mad max” then realise how much effort that is, and how much it sucks to not have clean drinking water and food and will just give up on the whole thing and wait for someone else to come and fix everything.
I think it is important to remember that “cordial” isn’t the same thing as liberal “civility” that they demand from you. Be honest and earnest, be willing to answer questions honestly, but you don’t have concede ground for the sake of “civility.”
