This is expensive cgi, it screams it. Not quite sure why they made it but someone needs to be convinced of something for sure.
(Just compare it to any footage of SpaceX landings, this video is far to clean, the sky alone is “perfect”)

Not sure if I am reading it correctly. But what ip adress is your given to your pc?
It reads to me like you have router 1 and 2 on router 1’s network but your pc is on router 2’s “internal” network… which must not be in the same 192.168.1.x range as is router 1’s network.
Put router 1 under 192.168.2.x range Then Then Router 2 with 192.168.1.x adressing should work still, and the pc should be able to talk to the router-1 network.
I suspect the Chiss Ascendancy are deemed too complex yet boring to be made a viable culture in Disney shows, unless they give them a rework that comes with the danger of gimping Thrawn. But they might go with a Chiss character here and there.
I am with you there, though 8-10 episodes can be perfected these days as long as they are proper 45 minute episodes. With that you can tell epic stories.
Not this 27 minute nonsense that Disney keeps doing with big Star Wars shows…
And with that I am forced to mention The Acolyte’s 8 episodes of ~27 minutes with a budget of $180 million…
With the Kenobi show they wasted so much potential in doing this. That should have been a movie or 10 episode 45 minute episodes at least, just because of all the extra nonsense they crammed in there.
I am getting modern Ewok Movie vibes … and that is not a good thing.
It really feels like another step to remake Star Wars into a more children focused affair, after they laid waste to their more adult fanbase. Now I will await Disney to start throwing toxic sludge at the fans months ahead, so that when the show releases they can blame the fanbase for the failure.
That said, ignoring its copy-paste setup from the Acolyte trailer, for now this teaser did intrigue me, I am curious where the next trailer will take it. But I can’t be bothered any more to get hyped up prematurely.
The result of the US elections are the tipping point either way for the whole world, and every country is awaiting what will happen.
One side drops the world in misery, from the full destruction of Ukraine and it’s people, to an intense war in the EU and the Koreas.Taiwan as a country will cease to exist, as will its chip production. Not to mention the deep scarring that will take place within the US itself where it will see the Constitution torn up. America First, but as a consequence it loses power and status everywhere else for years to come.
The other possibility is that starting in 2025 the current big worldwide conflicts will be resolved semi peacefully, a slow growth to more financial prosperity and equality sets in plus a number of billionaires will need to pay some of their taxes, but international treaties and trades will be reinforced.
I am really hoping for the latter, because if the outcome is the first, we’ll see a least a decade of chaos and economic downfall everywhere.
So, my choice is made, it will be better in 2025 <crosses fingers>
I try to avoid watching trailers these days but accidentally stumbled into this one… and beyond it plain showing too much it left me puzzled and disappointed.
This does not have the look and feel of a Ridley Scott movie, almost all the way through it left me wondering IS this the Gladiator 2 trailer or is it for something else?
What’s with the very bad placement of the rap music? Come on this does not fit at all. I can only hope the soundtrack for the actual movie will be leagues better.
I did not like ANY of the characters, besides the presentation being a jumble, no character stood out to where I’d think “oh I am interested in his story”.
All in all, originally I was looking out for this movie, but my interest dropped far after seeing this trailer, not the effect a trailer is supposed to have.
Don’t forget most trailers these days show the whole movie in a condensed form… The ones for comedies plain show all the big jokes like it’s not important.
The art of the good Teasers and Trailers died somewhere after the time the first two Star Wars Prequels came out.
Well this sounds a bit familiar…
Next step is adding a scoring system with penalties for certain behavior and it will be quite similar to the social system that is rolling out in China…
This is not a new revelation, I guess it just eluded a lot of people watching the movies.
Palpatine could do it on a galaxy wide scale, Yoda mentions “The Dark Side clouds everything” in the prequels.
I don’t remember which, but in various games the Dark Side users had similar powers.
Also, Obi Wan influences the mind of stormtroopers etc. it is a logical conclusion that Dark Side users have abilities like it.
That it is now done in the middle of a lightsaber fight just means the one doing it is trained in this style of combat.
Ofcourse imo it still is bad writing if it works on just about every jedi, in their prime, attacking him in that group.
Yes this sounds like a very convoluted way to go about things, but I am not sure if it was the actual verdict that is so badly constructed that it demands this or that Google gives itself and everyone else a lot of unnecessary pain.
Samsung also does auto updates etc and co-exists with the play store on samsung phones (granted, it lives within their android skin), even updates some Google play store (installed) apps, so I am not sure what or where the issue is/lies.
But now Google wants app stores within app stores within app stores as a solution?
Well one small step would be to stop selling or dealing with subcontractors, will not fix it but does add an extra hurdle to things.
Technical issues? Go on-site to where the machine is supposed to be … have your own technicians look at the machines on site and report back.
But I guess those costs put pressure on the profits of the company.
Cancelation fees (and steep ones at that) on digital goods/“services” … shows how far things sunk towards the lower hells.
I have some Hex Clad (real ones), used for a few years now without issue, no scratches or damaged areas, they are good for general purpose cooking, the non stick is ok but not amazing. Eggs tend to stick more but not like glue, as long as you use some butter/oil.
They were bought to replace my tefal pans, used a few of those over some years but they always warped and the non stick coating wore off.
I did buy 2 Green Pans to fry eggs etc. in but the non stick coating developed a worn area within 10 months, and they also showed signs of the coating flaking off, with proper use.
All in all I prefer stainless steel, esp for meat, but for big (one) pan meals I use my hex clad. Over time I hope to replace all non stick with certified pfas free pans, real stainless steel alternatives are rather expensive.
Years ago I happily used some Razer mice and keyboards, even a headset, so in the not too far past I told people around me that Razer was fairly good, quality wise, but alas, I think each and every one I recommended Razer products to had them break and or die well within warranty, and they always had to start a stupid discussion to get the warranty/RMA accepted, a few times even replacements denied outright by Razer.
For me this stands in sharp contrast with Logitech whom has never denied me a warranty, even for products a few weeks beyond the date, and they generally just send out a new item. That is, for me it is rare for a Logitech product to actually require replacement to begin with, I have a few mice, keyboards and headsets far older than 5 years and they work fine plus are still supported in the drivers.
Speaking of drivers, Razer at one point also made the decision to have their drivers require an account login to function properly (multi-button mice would only have 2 functional buttons if not logged in etc). But after some flak from its users it slightly changed that to the login being optional, but profiles would still be hampered without a continuous online presence.
Coming back to Asus, for a few years now I hear of people having quality issues and grumpy asus service desks, but for me their videocards ways ran fine (even without coil whine, unlike some MSI cards). I am quite hesitant to buy an Asus monitor or motherboard though.
If this is true it will be devastating for Qualcomm … they hyped the new chips big time, and some huge manufacturers happily announced products with the new chip. So if this falls flat, a few influential players will not be happy at all…
Not to mention the rest of the tech media… they will happily sell the pitchforks and torches.
The thing is though it is not only now that the US was perceived as weak, it started during Trump’s time in power. The way Trump plainly kissed Putins feet in deep adoration, and utterly discredited his own forces any way he could, set the tone for the 12 years to follow… Trump being the loser he is only knows to blame others and the way he puts Biden in the spotlight as inept is not doing the US’ reputation any good.
Back then the international “politicians” could see that not only Trump’s 4 years were weak, but Bidens term and the next 4 years after that will be of the same mess with either the republicans destroying Democracy or throwing tantrums and blocking all legislation, regardless who wins the US finds itself in a gridlock of indecisiveness and infighting. (And it’s quite clear it’s all orchestrated by Putin himself … time and time again there’s evidence of strong Russian influence in the US politics and the republicans brush it aside and block investigations with a sheepish smile)
That makes it 12(!!) full years of the US rapidly losing status and power on the world stage.
All in all, Putin knew the US was so predictably incompetent that he could calculate to have 6 years at minimum to wreack as much havoc in Ukraine as he wishes… and we’re only in year 2 of his meat grinder.
The music, in whatever that alien language was (not the original German) is a small stroke of genius…
For the rest of the show I have absolutely no idea what to think of it. It is all over the place, it looks great, feels like The Goonies In Space, but it’s also a new take on a kids show like the Ewok Adventure movies and I have serious doubts that currently a Star Wars for very young kids will make it great again…
Perhaps in 20 years a group of folks will see this as their new Goonies, but that does nothing for the current generation of fans… We do exist, no matter how stubbornly Lucasfilm is trying to get rid of us.
I do applaud them for trying new things, but the new things should come when you have properly and successfully rounded off the old things … now it feels like Lucasfilm is just shooting randomly with new bits hoping it’ll catch a hit somewhere no matter the costs, as long as they don’t need to make “legacy” Star Wars.
