211·4 days agoBecause our ssn was stolen many of times, our credit score was low even after we fought off all the charges and couldn’t get an apartment without a garentour. Moved to Spain and never needed a garentour or social check in basic necessities, hell we could go for a loan and the only thing judged is our reasoning. Slowly waiting for permanent residency and citizenship :)

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•The ancient Greeks or Chinese should have already had words for this.
1·8 days agoWe’re a 1, we can see, smell taste and even move the apple around along with an entire environment around it.
What we can’t do very well is thinking with words, though that has slowly been changing the past few years where we can think a little bit with words, however it’s mostly thoughts as emotions, objects and feelings of action.
Instead of thinking “I need to walk to the kitchen for water” we just think of ourselves physically getting up and getting the water with the sense of urgency and need. BuT when speaking/writing the way we do that is by remembering the visual words and hope they’re spelled out physically and what emotions/visuals connect with. Ie a physical apple in our mind have connections to the physical feelings of saying “Apple” [c.Eng], “manzana” [c.Esp], “りんご” [c.Jp] then each of those would have connections to spellings, grammatical connections, factoids, etc kinda like a language web.
But yeah anywho idk if anyone else thinks like that but it makes learning different languages hard, having to learn Spanish rn is like a full time job and after this we’re learning German, Dutch and then some other languages for the challenge/fun.
Donated to Wikipedia before and once we have an income again we’ll be donating again since we use it quite a lot

6·10 days agoDO NOT CHANGE THE CHANNEL!! ;—; THESE ARE RELATABLE TEARS
Hi, we use accessible features (os wide captions for VCs and videos without CC to help with hearing issues/audio processing disability) and haven’t had issues with that. Tho from what we’ve heard, screen readers are trash no matter what OS you use. :P Haven’t had much of an issue otherwise.

memes@lemmy.world•"One piece after the 37 episode gets really good"
1·17 days agoAlso we should mention we know the show isn’t for everyone but we personally love it. It’s not for everyone and other people like things we don’t like too.
But like we mentioned if you’re wanting a rough watch and get a good idea of the series in order not to miss out, One Pace is a really good edit to watch it.

3·17 days agoIdk about everyone else but One Piece is literally our comfort show (watched all all of it- we think 6 times by now) and we’re rewatching again atm via the One Pace edit and even started reading the manga aswell (in Spanish as we’re learning Spanish rn).
So far in One Pace a lot of small details are removed which we personally dislike, but the overall concessions and it being a faster pace edit it’s pretty good ngl. If your looking for a good run through of the anime, the One Pace gets the job done.

Uplifting News@lemmy.world•Can Dallas become a more bikeable city? Advocates are cautiously optimisticEnglish
6·17 days agoEhhhh maybe in the city center where it’s really expensive to live and will only benefit those there and not actually build any infrastructure where people actually live. Live in Dallas for a couple years and it was not friendly in any sorts so bike infrastructure would come with a lot of astrixes. Regardless we really do hope the bike lanes do get built and it’s further expanded to neighborhoods that really need them. Maybe even expand and better public transit in the meantime as well :>
o7 thankies! yeah looked at that AI reply and was like bruh wtf? lmao

3·18 days agoThat is literally a bullet dodged and a half. Europe has been feeling like a whole new world, one that makes sense and we don’t feel in danger. That does make it a Disney land huh? Lol
For us we were born in the USA and it always felt like we were trapped. Born raised and lived in poverty. Being disabled didn’t help at all either. We worked for a while and we finally able to move with the help of our significant other. We’re still trying to get permanent residency but you will not see us in the USA any time soon.
Here’s a site that explains things: https://plurality-hub.carrd.co/
TLDR we have DID. Our mental consciousness splits due to trauma (it’s a traumatic response system) and those different consciousness are often considered as alters or headmates (we refer to the latter.) People with DID are called systems, many systems don’t come out saying or publicly mention due to stigmas, however we don’t give a shit/others won’t know till they hear it from the source.
FAQ: is this real?- Yes, sadly due to it being not too common it’s not well studied. Who are you?- I’m Basil, one of many 👋 Do you share memories?- only if we want to/not all of us are able to.
