But nothing you just said is contradictory to celebrating the deaths of Nazis, so that can’t be relevant to this conversation
I love Jesus Christ, the second amendment, and grilling up delicious plant-based burgers for my family.

Nutomic could ban you from .ml tomorrow. You’re putting yourself at risk by being in his spaces, but more importantly you’re putting other trans people at risk by telling them “come on in, the water’s fine. The scorpion won’t sting you”
Like I’d feel safe telling you, you’re a .ml user. Stay guessing

Women with normal BMI who wished to lose weight reported lower energy and protein intake per kg of body weight, more signs of depression and less satisfaction with their quality of life than those who did not wish to lose weight in both age groups. The desire to lose weight was similarly associated with psychological health in women with overweight/obesity, in both age categories as well.
The wish to lose weight is a possible health indicator and should not be normalized.
Health care providers should be cautious when they communicate about weight and corpulence with their patients, refraining from valorizing thinness, and promoting adequate weight loss programs when appropriate.
Moreover, these findings corroborates the observation that body dissatisfaction is a public health issue (Mond et al., 2013) and raise the question of how to devise public health campaigns so that they reach their goal without adverse side-effects (Walls et al., 2011).
I’m going to have to push back on your attempt to spread unhealthy patterns of thought. We have a weight dissatisfaction epidemic that’s genuinely hurting people and your current actions are part of the problem.
My actual position is that Dessalines should tell Nutomic to either stop being a transphobe or get lost. And since Dessalines won’t do either, lemmy.ml is a lost cause and should be defederated by every trans-respecting instance until it’s stuck in its own little transphobic bubble with lemmygrad and hexbear. The rest of us get on with our lives and slowly move over to Piefed like Ada is doing with her community. Eventually lemmy.ml is about as influential as Truth Social or Raddle or Digg and Nutomic dies at the ripe old age of 90, having learned nothing and lost all relevance. In the intervening decades a worldwide communist revolution has destroyed capitalism, so Nutomic is entitled to free healthcare in his battle with cancer/parkinsons/dementia, because I support liberty and equality for all, even wankers.
That’s what I think we should do.
Well there we go, don’t we
Nutomic is one of the two lead developers and owners of lemmy.ml. If using and defending a platform owned by a transphobe is brave resistance, why don’t you go to Truth Social or Xitter instead? It would save us having to hear your silly arguments.
Well no, both of those things are supporting transphobes, the only difference is whether you’re supporting Nutomic’s transphobia or someone else’s. The true alternative is to quit lemmy.ml and not be a transphobe supporter at all.
I guess your argument is the best thing to do is to slowly reform the space by working under a transphobe, like that’s ever worked in history.
Well, the left wing is about self-love. It’s about gay pride, and worker solidarity. I’m part of a left wing cult, and our leader, Jesus Christ, tells us to love our neighbours and ourselves, and says we all have the power to move mountains. So I don’t think you need to worry about our violence leading to fascism. It’s right wing groups like capitalists and Christians (followers of Paul) you need to watch out for, because they teach self-hatred and then sell their followers superiority as the cure. Kind of like Zuko from Avatar when Iroh was explaining that his pride was the source of his shame.

19·4 days agoThe lord gave us fat to protect us from cold and starvation, and to feed our children. Fat is natural and good. I worry that people are taking these medications because they’ve been taught to hate their bodies by the media. If someone genuinely wants to be thinner I support their journey, but I think there should be an evaluation by a mental healthcare expert to make sure their desire to lose weight isn’t motivated by some kind of self-hatred.
The fascist mindset is about superiority, not violence. They’re white supremacists. A violent mindset isn’t a fascist mindset, it’s just called being normal.
You should be more concerned with celebrating the violent deeds of the heroes who brought us our liberty. It’s concerning that you don’t love George Washington for all the Redcoats he killed.
Celebrating the deaths of authoritarians is one of those country’s founding values.
Your opinion that nobody deserves to be killed is really rare, historically. King Arthur killed people. Achilles killed people. Moses killed people. Sun Wukong killed people. Superman is probably the first superhero in history who didn’t regularly kill people.
What I’m saying is that people who celebrate violence are normal and your pacifism is a weird and hypocritical trend that won’t be popular for very long.
George Washington understood that. He fought and sent people to their deaths for the freedom you now enjoy. Show some patriotism and appreciate the value of violence.
Have you considered that you defending an instance that defends a transphobe means you are defending a transphobe? Because Jesus Christ (transmasculine, He/Him) would have considered that if He were in your position, and He wouldn’t do it. It’s a sin.
Lemmy.ml is the devil tempting good leftists to sin. They pretend to be leftists, but the admins are transphobic. It’s a trap designed to trick leftists into supporting transphobia. That way they won’t get to go to heaven.

1·14 days agoWell there you go, you don’t care about truth all the time, you have time in your life to set truth aside and enjoy fantasy. You just hadn’t realised it until I pointed it out.

People in that time would have also stared at a visibly trans woman. They would have stared at two men kissing. Kids were bullied for having autism. The KKK lynched a black man for the last time in 1981.
The vast diversity the Lord put on this earth was not celebrated but shunned until very recently, and much of it still is. Now I showed you a source that what you’re doing is unhealthy, and your argument is “but fat people are new and scary”? These appeals to emotion do not convince me that you’re not hurting people.
