  • I am no fan of the police, but in this case they likely have no choice but to zip tie. What you see here are regulations and standards being applied, regardless of how nonsensical they are. My guess is that the standard rules and procedures for detaining and transporting someone in custody require the police officers to restrain the individual using zip ties. I am willing to bet that even if the person was paralyzed from the neck down, and their arms were completely useless, the police officer would have still been required to zip tie their wrists together. Its all stupid. This entire country is stupid.
