Toss them in the woods, deer fuckin love pumpkin
Good god that is a hard headline to grok. I thought it had something to do with the actual day prior to something else.
I mean given the massive industry layoffs over the past few years developers are already pretty used to not having jobs.
I hate how developers are the ones attributed to game industry problems. Decisions like this almost never fall on the developers shoulders, specifically the ownership quote was from their subscription service director. You know… the guy whose job depends on you not wanting to own games.
Things like unit tests I just have AI do it all now. Since running the test tells you your coverage you can verify if it got everything or not.

There’s a good episode a few months back where the CEO of Logitech tries to justify the mouse subscription.
He’s also one of the hosts of the Vergecast https://pca.st/podcast/5cda9490-4117-012e-1622-00163e1b201c

Is this news? Emulation has been supported in official capacities since the virtual NES in game cube Animal Crossing. There’s probably even earlier examples. The Wii virtual shop, the Switch has that classic games library and even those mini consoles.
I did get an email from HIBP so at the very least they got my email
If I buy the 82 dollar turkey today and sell it when the turkey market hits 100 do I have to declare turkey capital gains
I’m just waiting for aGameScout to drop a video on this one. He’s been doing excellent deep dives on every Tetris milestone
Would be hilarious if the next version of the pi zero was strong enough to emulate Dreamcast and play full Sonic adventure on the VMU
I’ve watched all of the Gordon Ramsey Kitchen Nightmares series and it’s full of these, except it’s usually fuckin’ instead of absolute.
My favorite is when after having lunch he went back to the kitchen to find they were just microwaving everything. The exchange went something like this:
“Did I have anything for lunch that wasn’t microwaved?”
“your salad”
“Of course you don’t microwave a salad you fuckin’ donut”

Hell yea. Our unit test coverage went way up because you can blow through test creation in second. I had a large complicated migration from one data set to another with specific mutations based on weird rules and GPT got me 80% of the way there and with a little nudging basically got it perfect. Code that would’ve taken a few hours took about 6 prompts. If I’m curious about a new library I can get a working example right away to see how everything fits together. When these articles say there’s no benefit I feel people aren’t using these tools or don’t know how to use them effectively.
Love this idea. Down vote is severely lacking a why and ultimately doesn’t change anything but good reasoning can go a long way.
This might be a real unpopular opinion but I think the down vote is a broken feature. We do need some kind of vote to help the best stuff rise to the top, thus the up vote. Down vote basically says “I disagree with your opinion but I don’t have a strong enough rebuttal to engage in the discussion to explain why”. A basic agreement doesn’t usually add a lot to the conversation unless the comment itself comes with additional context, a disagreement requires some level of dialog as to explain why. It encourages this bubble hivemind instead of open discussion. Really makes me miss how popular forums were in the mid 2000s.
It doesn’t really stop spam, we have stronger mechanics for that like reporting, moderation and spambot tools. Plus posts without any engagement usually just fall off pretty quickly without reaching a wider audience.
Then you have your trolls who collect down votes. Having a vote score of 1 is way less compelling for a troll than -15.
Edit
4 down votes without discussion, we’ve just proved the point.
JSRF can be emulated now with Xemu. Looks amazing in 4k. Not sure about deck performance though.
I love this. I feel like the internet used to be full of these crazy little art projects.
I have little faith in this. Neversoft doesn’t even exist anymore, they were merged into Infinity Ward to be just another COD grunt. Vicarious Visions who made the wonderful THPS 1+2 also don’t exist anymore and the team was merged into Blizzard to work on Diablo (maybe that’s why last season was a banger). On the plus side of all these closures, Robomodo who made all the worst Tony Hawk stuff (Ride, Shred, THPS HD, THPS 5) is shut down completely so at the very least they won’t get the project.
It’s confusing, the gameplay looks smooth enough, little inconstant but not unplayable. The cut scenes look like they’re 7 frames a second.
Based on what? All apps just look like this now. If you blurred the content and told me this was the Netflix app, I’d be like yeah checks out.
