Yep! 👍 Move on. Got it. I guess I paid for a game and that means I must give the developer infinite chances and coddle then with positive opinions and “well at least they’re transparent when they fuck up”.

Sounds like the patented Destiny mindset to me! I should be happy I could play it at all!

“Fixing” a spawn rate they “fixed” because it was previously “broken”. This sounds like every other line in a Helldivers II patch.

AH is ass at their job. Knee-jerk changes that no one asked for that fundamentally break the game. There’s a hotfix for this garbage practically every day, and like 90% of the lines are “Fixed crash issue” because the game collapses from a gentle sneeze. The rest of the “fixes” are nerfs to popular weapons.

    1. Sure! Great point! That’s why:

      a. Minors very rarely get surgery or non-reversible care.

      b. If a minor has gender dysphoria, they can work with their doctor and parents to be put on puberty blockers so they can explore if/how they want to transition, instead of forcing them through a puberty that would be very expensive and traumatic to undo.

Your point is only an issue for bigots who can’t respect someone else’s private medical decisions regarding their own body.

    2. I had so much info and "are you sure?"s shoved down my throat when I finally came out. It would be impossible to not be sure if you actually talk to a therapist and your doctor. Both of which are necessary for a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, and is a precursor to getting access to care and doing things like changing one’s name (from experience!).

Shall we regulate who can get tattoos or hair removal? Those seem pretty permanent and can have health implications as well.

    3. I don’t give much of a fuck about what you personally find to be important when my rights are on the line. Be as pissy as you want about this, but the only reason trans people are in the news or in politics is because of conservatives trying to legislate them out of existence. If my existence bothers you so much, you’re welcome to gouge your own eyes out and no longer perceive me.

Unpopular opinions is about the only place this shit can be said with a smug, troll veneer about wanting discussion or civility. Meanwhile, said opinions are only held by some of the most vile people to exist. I’d caution you about the company you’ll keep with opinions like that, but you seem to be okay with it.

    EDIT: Fixed formatting.

  • It’s a mediocre video game. I’m supremely disappointed in those who call themselves allies but can’t do the equivalent of picking a different coffee brand. I know you find us annoying. Just imagine how annoying I find contrarions and pissants like yourself when my rights and safety are stripped away using the clout and profits of shit like this game.

Oh, wait. My bad. I asked you to empathize. I know you’re incapable, I shouldn’t have bothered.

  • Hey! Actual trans person. I want to start by saying please use Transgender, not transexual. It’s a dysphoria around gender and the outdated transexual term ties it to sexuality. In reality, those are very different, even if they may be closely associated in general thought.

Some of what you are describing you did when you were younger was exploring your gender. I personally think that’s great, and I think everyone should at least ask themselves how they feel about their identity and try things out if they find themselves curious. Like you, they might not find that they are trans and that’s ok! That actually happens a lot, though most cis folks don’t tend to question or think about their gender much.

As for me, when I was a kid, I just felt wrong whenever I was strongly gendered as male. I felt how you feel about your masculinity when I could get away with feminine choices. The Internet was an escape where I could be anonymous and I clung to it since it let me be more myself. If you’d like to learn more or learn signs that you or others might be experiencing gender dysphoria, I highly recommend https://genderdysphoria.fyi.

  • Here’s a good resource: http://genderdysphoria.fyi/

You need to understand how often people ask questions that seem to come from a place of ignorance but genuine curiosity and then take that discussion to tell trans folks that they are wrong. It happens so much that it’s the main way that transphobes try to infiltrate spaces meant for trans folks.

My honest response is to check that website out. If you are asking about this in trans spaces, bring zero opinions to the table and accept what is said back to you without debate. Debating trans folks’ existence is something that is forced upon them in their own spaces by malicious people asking and framing questions just like you’ve described.

It’s hard to take the “enlightened centrism” stance seriously when I see it used as an excuse. So many centrists tell trans folks that their identity is wrong and that they are mentally ill or chose this “lifestyle”. As if they want to be trans. As if they like feeling scared and being told they’re wrong about something as fundamental as their identity.
