Welcome to the European frenzy (Croatia moved to Schengen since then)

I offered my parents a city trip in Spain with the 3 of us. They don’t travel that much on their own, and they enjoyed it so it was nice

I wasn’t sure it was the same person, as OP mentions not having any link to family while the previously banned person lived with his mother.

I might do a meta post later on how to deal with overtly negative people, to see what the rest of the community is thinking

Because if you want to get sad, angered and all the other type of negative emotions, there are hundreds of other communities to do so.

This community, and a few others (!wholesome@reddthat.com , !lemmybewholesome@lemmy.world ) are the few where we actively try to keep a positive vibe.

That said, it’s obviously fine to share something that made sad of course, but maybe not having this as a regular thread.

There is also !goodoffmychest@lemmy.world that could fit the bill.
