I mean even if you’re not explicitly selling pardons you don’t have to worry about the political consequences of a pardon if it’s your last term in office and can’t run anymore due to being term limited. So the system is broke from the very start and just allows presidents to override enforcement of laws they don’t like at the federal level.

I mean spaghetti code is a part of learning a new tool, my first Unity projects I did back in highschool have some really bad spaghetti code. I’ve since learned from then and found better ways to organize things to avoid that. But yeah if you’re just letting AI write your spaghetti you’re not gonna understand why it’s bad and that prevents learning what you can do better next time.

Wouldn’t the gas still seep into the sewers in that case?
I mean if he’s genuinely interested in learning Unity and just using AI to help with learning that’s good, but yeah if he’s just making the AI do all the work and relying on it then yeah probably not gonna go good.
Look I’m not a Biden fan, I think there’s plenty to criticize him for and I would vastly prefer Bernie for president. But critiquing him on this when he got the workers what they wanted while also avoiding a strike which would have negative impacts both to workers and other people sounds like a win win to me and exactly what the president should be doing. Yeah I definitely think going the route of not allowing them to strike is definitely not the best but he did follow through to get them what they wanted. Strikes should be a last resort if a company won’t give the workers what they want and if the president can step in and get them what they want without a strike that’s generally a good thing.
Here’s some links directly from the unions thanking Biden for working with the unions after the strike was blocked to get them what they wanted.

As much as I dislike Joe Biden he did actually do a good job there of making sure the workers got their demands without having to strike. The union even ended up thanking him for it a while after all the media attention died down on it.

Every agency action that Democrats don’t like — whether it’s a rule or not — will be fair game, from mining permits and fossil fuel projects to foreign affairs and tax policies.”
Yeah I’ll believe it when I see it, I have zero faith in Democrats taking advantage of this expansion of power to do any good
WarlordSdocy@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Anti-intellectualism is sadly not an isolated problem51·14 天前It’s not even about dumbing down, it’s about presenting the information in an engaging and at least slightly entertaining way. People will watch hours long YouTube video going in depth on topics because those people know how to give the info in an engaging way. Experts either need to pick up those skills or start working with people who already have them. Because the people spreading disinformation focus a lot more on communications since they don’t have to do any real research behind their positions, they just have to focus on selling it.
WarlordSdocy@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Anti-intellectualism is sadly not an isolated problem5·14 天前Either that or they need to start hiring communications people and taking their advice. And not just like the PR speak communications people but people who have experience with creating something engaging and potentially entertaining as well that can then be merged with the educational message you’re trying to spread. Otherwise people on the other side are gonna focus on spinning their lies in a creative and engaging way and you’ll never win people over.
Yeah I would say run as an independent socialist or run with an already existing group in your area. I joined DSA as they’re the main socialists/labor force in my area that runs candidates and wins. But yeah while I’m biased towards saying you should join them you should really just find whatever group has momentum in your area and work with them. Or if there is nothing like that in your area (since you said you’re in a red area) then running as an independent could be pretty effective if you have the resources to do it since you can push socialist talking points that resonate with people without being labeled a socialist. But yeah at the end of the day you’re gonna need to meet people and make connections with people if you want to run so either you can get the resources you need to run or at the very least know people who will help you with door knocking and phone banking.
WarlordSdocy@lemm.eeto Games@lemmy.world•$80 for Borderlands 4 too costly? Randy Pitchford says, "If you're a real fan, you'll find a way to make it happen"English5·14 天前Yeah I’m really starting to feel like we’re gonna see a lot of these companies shift from doing big AAA games to instead publishing small indie games. Almost all of these big companies have indie publishing arms now and as they start to see good profits from those without having to take on the cost of paying devs themselves I wouldn’t be surprised if they start cutting back on their own dev teams and shifting to that.
WarlordSdocy@lemm.eetoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Anti-intellectualism is sadly not an isolated problem121·14 天前I think a good point related to this was made by a YouTuber called Atun-Shei Films. In one of his Q&A videos he talked about this emphasized the problem is that experts need to get better at communicating with the public in an engaging way. Otherwise you end up with experts who scoff and tell you to just trust them when you ask questions about why they recommend certain things. And that’s the space that anti-intellectual people will fill and provide their own opinion but can communicate it in an engaging way. It’s definitely not fair that you both have to be an expert at something but also have to be good at communicating it but that’s the reality we live in at this point.
No you see it’s supposed to be at their will, not your will.
