Incredible movie, but goddamn, I can’t watch a huge portion of the final act. The wife of actor David Gale–who played the eventually headless guy–divorced him shortly after the film was released. The cast mentions on the DVD commentary that it was highly suspected that his, uh, convincing performance in the above scene is very much to blame.

I was late for work, the first time I read Hellstar Remina, because I started it with morning coffee, and had to finish it! It was definitely more memorable than the job, at the time.
Semi-related, the Ito translated hardcovers are beautifully done. I made the, uh, costly mistake, of getting my spouse the main stack some years back, and now they’re just on pre-order to send, as soon as a new one is released. The style changes for some, a few have color illustrations, some have pretty dust covers, but they’re all great. Hellstar Remina is bright red, and my favorite. (👁️)

I don’t know what’d be a hidden gem, but I adore Moonstruck. It’s a masterpiece of entertainment, acting, and all around beautiful cinematography. The entire cast is phenomenal, and Cage is just…glorious. I’ve practically memorized the whole damned movie, I’ve seen it so many times, over the years. I have an absolute passion for it, and will talk about it for hours with anyone who’d let me.

That sounds awful, but also that’s kind of fascinating? I’ve never heard an explanation of what it feels like. And what kid entirely listens to their parents when it comes to being outside? That’s where we learn our best, painful lessons, yeah?
I lived in the mountains in Colorado for a most of my childhood into mid-teens, and had some absolutely insane snow goggles for the few times I was allowed to go skiing (my mother was terrified I was going to injury myself, and couldn’t compete in screw-up-your-child athletics), and I definitely remember that if you went out without your goggles, your eyes would hurt so quickly, you’d sure as heck remember to put them on. I guess that makes sense for Colorado, since it’s in a weird position for, uh, extreme sun.

It’s probably a term used elsewhere too, but in the US Navy, when it’s coming from both ends, especially stationed or deployed on ship, it’s the double dragon. Ship food is bad. Ship food is rejected prison food. Moldy. Horrible. Absolute garbage. Garbage would probably be safer.

Lol, I’ve been checked out many times. I have Celiac and IBD, plus bouts of pancreatitis (which especially makes fried foods icky to digest) - minus the teeny amount of protein, it’s pretty much all ingredients that upset my insides and beyond. Had two abdominal surgeries, which have improved the hell out of the above, but a stupid rare genetic disorder makes all the above chronic, regardless. Plus, I’m an idiot! :D And already befevered and sick with who knows what, so delicious mild self-torture doesn’t really add much, right now.
