I’m… Going to be… The next hoKAGE!
bizarroland@lemmy.worldtoHacker News@lemmy.bestiver.se•ChatGPT's enterprise success against Copilot fuels OpenAI/Microsoft rivalryEnglish1·1 天前I know nobody with a soul at Microsoft and the ability to do something about it will read this, but maybe, just maybe, shoving your AI agent down your users’ throats against their will and cramming it into every single application on their computer is not the best way to engender goodwill and user adoption.
Maybe if you offered it to them as a voluntary upgrade that they could use to try it out without it being forced on them would have done a better job.
But you know, go on being Microsoft. You’ve been this way for 50 fucking years, you’re gonna keep being this way, and nobody can stop you except your own complete and total downfall.

But we can still use Lutris. It does not mean that we are endorsing the hateful rhetoric of the discord, right?
bizarroland@lemmy.worldto Science@lemmy.ml•The Environmental and Ecological Benefits of Edible Insects: A Review1·1 天前Surprisingly, I’m much more okay with it if I’m lied to. If you tell me no, no, no, there are no bugs in this, and then I eat it, and I do not detect bugs in it, and it turns out after the fact that there were bugs in it, okay fine, you got me, fair game.
My work decided to close for Juneteenth, but then I had to come back on Friday, and I told everyone I was going to request that Friday off so I could have a four-day weekend for the price of one day of PTO, and I forgot to do it, so I had to work a weird bizarroland hellscape Friday where we had just had a day off so we have like a little bit more energy than usual, but then the weekend is also about to hit so everyone wanted to leave, but everyone also wanted to get all of their work done, so for me it was just a fucking nightmare.
How is it possible to regret eating blueberries? Like, I need more details.

bizarroland@lemmy.worldto Cast Iron@lemmy.world•Thrifted Griswald is contaminated with lead :(English231·1 天前I wonder if you tried the electrolysis trick to remove all of the coating and then tested the bare metal if it would still have lead contamination.
If the coating contains lead and you get rid of it, and then the bare metal doesn’t, then you could just re-season the pan and it would be fine, right?
bizarroland@lemmy.worldto Science@lemmy.ml•The Environmental and Ecological Benefits of Edible Insects: A Review7·2 天前I speak for a sizeable portion of the human race when I say I’ll never voluntarily eat bugs.
I’d rather be forced to be a vegan.
No shade on you if you choose to eat bugs, it’s just not for me.
Especially in a group. Chances are they had empathy to begin with, combined that with actual drugs, likely at least weed, and then got a nice dose of groupthink placebo as the cherry on top.

Maybe a little more under high load, but those are going to be intermittent and not constant.
I’m just saying it’s not that much more electricity usage, and the recycling more than offsets the CO2.

In the original Civil War, the Confederacy had the land advantage and a surplus of people willing to fight.
The North had just as many people willing to fight, but also money.
And because they had money, they had better weaponry, better cavalry, and healthier, happier soldiers.
Further, there were many people in the South who did not agree with the Civil War and who supported the North’s conquest of the South.
The South was in a very bad situation financially and organizationally to fight a civil war, whereas Cascadia, being Washington, California, and Oregon would have quite a bit in its favor, Especially if we did something outlandish like ask the Chinese for help in exchange for a trade agreement.
Having a new country pop up between America and the far west would be disastrous for America’s financial stability.
I am not saying that we should start a civil war or that we should actually secede from the union. I am just saying that this would not resemble the civil war at all, and barring an early blitzkrieg or a nuclear assault, they could win.
I mean, yes, or we could annex the tip of Idaho and exile everybody that voted for Trump Or that does not swear allegiance to the new Republic of Cascadia.
It’s a screenshot from the movie They Live.
In it, Roddy Piper has special glasses that allows him to see past these like weird replacement human alien creatures disguises, so in this screenshot he’s wearing the glasses and so you can see a couple of the aliens faces in like blended in amongst the people and originally behind the screenshots or behind the images on the billboards you would see signs that say stuff like “obey” and “reproduce”.
I chose to use the black and white copy even though that wasn’t really perfect because it helped me not have to worry about shading in all of the colors for the images that I pasted in, because I am not a Photoshop expert.
